I don't really see anyone having a go at him. The goal was mostly his fault but we would say that if it was Buffon in goal too, they all make mistakes sometimes.

What's important is he doesn't break him for the next 6 months and we won't really know how he will respond til the next game or two

I think hes got until January to show that he's not broken after this. To many more mistakes and a new keeper must be coming in, in Jan. Either way Porno Al is gone, but Fabianski has done just enough to possibly hold onto no.2 (unless he starts flapping on a regular basis again).

It's not Fabianski's fault we didn't win and he had nothing to do with the team performance but it is his fault we lost.

we conceded 310 goals in 360 league games under graham an average of a goal conceded every 104.516129 minutes
we have conceded 481 goals in 573 league games under wenger an average of a goal conceded every 107.214137 minutes

Once again, what's more troubling and worth discussion, the fact Newcastle got one by us, or the fact we got 0 by them?

He's still Faboulanski!
The error wasn't that bad anyway.

Well without the error we would've tied, so since he made it, we lost.

He wasn't talking about the result of the error, he was talking about what he did wrong. It wasn't like VDS dropping the ball, or him punching it into the net... it was just a split second of hesitation coming out for the ball.

And in that regard, I agree with him.

I don't really see how this one was any different than all the others that people wanted his head for? Now since he only does it once every six games, it seems to be ok. I know why you're agreeing, you just don't want that thread that you're praising him for only a few good games now to make you look silly. ;)

Like I said above, that's only true if you believe that the goal is 100% down to Fabianski.
Every goal usually has about four or five players to blame and this case is no different.
Why did Sagna give away the free kick?
Why was a player like Carroll being marked by a striker?
Why did said striker let him walk right past him without putting him under any pressure at all?

Yes Fab made an error but how did Carroll get to the point where he was one-on-one with the GK in the first place?

This error was nowhere near as bad as the previous ones imo.
Remember the CL misunderstanding with Sol Campbell?
Remember the goal that went straight through his hand on the ground?

Not even in the same league.

Those two aren't the same, but all the others he came out to get, and didn't get are the same.

While you're right, that I don't want to be proven wrong by him again... this is not like his previous errors. He was just inches from getting to a ball, a ball that isn't easy for a GK to deal with. He wasn't so far out of position that he had to dive back to his goal and ended up punching a cross in. He didn't turn his back on the play as a quick FK was being taken allowing for an easy goal. He just had a minor hesitation. Go back and watch the replay from behind the goal. He starts out, stutters after taking 2 steps, lost his momentum and ended up just short of punching clear. At least he realized that he had no other option at that point and kept going instead of being left in no-man's land.

His previous mistakes were school boy errors. This was something that happens all the time. Most keepers don't even come out for that ball and are standing there almost useless on their line unless the header is right at them. He made the right decision coming off his line for that, he just lacked a little conviction.
