If Denilson starts the next game

I've defended Denilson on this forum a lot but now i see why it will be difficult for him to be a key player for us like Song is now and Diaby is becoming. The simple reason is that he's not flexible on the ball in the center.Once he faces a direction, even if that place is blocked,he doesn't have the effrontery to twist himself around skillfully. That's why he makes faulty passes and loses possessions.

At the point we were criticizing Song and Diaby here,we knew they have skills to be great

Song and Diaby were on the end of exactly the same criticism from us, now we pray that they're in the starting line-up.

Oddly enough I thought that Denilson looked a lot better than Song 2 seasons ago!

I think we all did in truth until Wenger threw him into the deep end and he struggled to make a telling impression.

1 year ago.... no one knew what Denilson could do ;)

Song and Diaby and Eboue for that fact were all below par

How things have changed......

The super diaby thread is a consolation, but not for long till someone paranoid comment on the blame diaby thread again as soon as he scores own goal or someting and i suspect Massa,Brigssy or IMF to be that someone

just read someone say that denilson will never step up and has,nt had a motm performance in 3 years if ever.well the 1st point is an opinion which i don,t share but is conjecture so cannot be argued but the 2nd is untrue.
bolton away in 08/09 denilson put in a fine performance on the right.he set up bendtners goal and capped it with a 3rd for us and despite 10 weeks out it was like he,d never been away v liege[h] strong in the tackle.some good passing and a fine goal.
a little rethink from him and he is a really good member of the squad

Denilson looks good with stats and while stats are not gospel by a long shot there is no smoke without fire. I think it comes down to what his responsibilities are and I find that when his responsibilites are more offensive than defensive then he does better.

With Song out then I imagine he will be the new DMF which can be challenging for him as he has awareness blocks sometimes but he is capable of doing it, I truely believe that.

Plus if he reacts to Ramseys injury the way the others did then that may spur his performances on.

I'm hoping Denilson just needs a run of games to find good form. I don't have much hope for him because I don't think he has the right mentality to be a great player, but I also said that about Diaby and he's changing my mind, so maybe Denilson can do the same. We'll see.

Spot on post man. Denilson will be such an important player for us, and anyone who has closed the book and made a judgment call on him at the age of 21 is a fool.

Right people when refering to Denilson can we call him the Brazilian Denilson in the vain hope people will be duped into believing that he is actually good and it will make Man City buy him for 24 million
