Current opinion on Denilson?

I think he's enjoying more freedom with Song playing behind him. I thought he was good last season. I'd still like us to sign a monster to partner Cesc though.

Last season he was played out of position so all the abuse aimed at him was a bit pointless really.
It's hardly surprising that as soon as you play him in his proper role he performs better.
With Song firmly anchored in front of the back four Denilson has more freedom to get forward and express himself.
That goal against Everton was a stunner.

Say what you like about Denilson but you have to admit that:

He has incredible stamina
He never stops working
He loves the club
He waits patiently for his opportunity to play
He'll play in any position that's asked of him
He is always in space ready to receive the ball
He plays at a high tempo which ensures that our game doesn't slow down
He keeps things simple and doesn't try and go on mazy runs or hog the ball like Diaby
He's a fighter
He is hungry to learn and improve

I absolutely loved that! "Touch the boy Jack again, or call him Luke and I'll eat your f***ing nose you weird looking ****!"...I imagine is what he said.

Sounds about right, great moment that.

Hahaha "or call him Luke..."

The key to unlocking Denny's rage has finally been found. Call Jack "Luke" and Denny will get angry... :)

There was a time when i really did not rate Denilson, back when we had Gilberto, Diarra, Flamini and Diaby was the next Vieira i thought he was the last in line for a CM position but he really has changed my mind. He may not be great at either role but in this 4-3-3 he really does well for the team and surely will get better and better as the season progress's.

Myabe if we was to go back to 4-4-2 he would be surplus to requirements but while we ar playing 4-3-3 i want him in the squad over Diaby, Ramsey or anybody else who may want his position.
