We never knew if he couldn't handle the PL because we never actually started him in a PL game.

Wenger mismanaged him properly. Chmukh has had enough opportunities.

Vela

Postby AFC10 » Fri May 04, 2012 9:18 am

I can't believe we're about to get rid of him tbh! Hasn't been given a proper chance at all and he's doing it in spain right now. Seen a couple of the games where he's been on tv and he definitely looks very good floating in and around the box! But the problem is he's loving life playing regular football and that's what we can't guarantee him at Arsenal especially as we have Podolski now! Shame really :(

I'm not sure if Vela would have made it at Arsenal, but I would have at least like to see him get a proper chance at least.

Anyone remember the CC games? Didn't look lightweight then when he was up front with someone.

He has been mismanaged by Wenger as i said a few weeks back.

I agree. He's best used in a 4-4-2 like formation, imo. Something we can't offer him atm

EDIT: Although, I don't think he's playing in a 4-4-2 like formation at Sociedad

Unlike the other wastes of space I'd like to see Vela given a chance too but it's obviously not going to happen. Wenger had no faith in him at the best of times and he doesn't want to come back.

I don't think his attitude helped much. He never learned english and by the sounds of it was a lazy git

Vela to leave Arsenal in the summer

The Mexico international has been granted leave from their Olympic side this summer so he can look for a new club and prepare for the forthcoming season

Vela has spent several seasons on loan from the Emirates Stadium and will now pursue a permanent move as he looks for regular first-team football.

The 23-year-old told Hector Gonzalez, the director of Mexico's national teams, not to include him for selection in the London Games as he will be searching for a new club over the summer.

Gonzalez said to reporters: "He told us that he does not want to play for Arsenal and he will go to a different club.

"He asked [not to be called up] so he can play the pre-season and meet his new manager at his new club, because it is almost sure he will not continue on at Real Sociedad."

The director also added that the decision is on a 'personal' basis as well as a 'professional' one and that not to expect to see the Mexican international until pre-season.

"Carlos Vela asked on a personal and professional level that he not be selected for any of the Mexican national teams."

Cruz Azul plan ambitious move for Arsenal striker Vela

Cruz Azul want to bring Arsenal striker Carlos Vela back to Mexico.

The Mexico international is coming off his best ever season as a senior player on-loan at Real Sociedad, which cannot afford to sign him permanently.

Diario Vasco says Cruz Azul are in contact with the Vela camp about a return home for the new season.

Vela began his career with Guadalajara before being snapped up by Arsenal after the 2005 U17 World Cup.

Not really unless we sign a striker to replace him because that means Chamakh will play.

Ah man!

Vela just needs to be humble and take whatever offer he gets from Spain!

If he goes back to Mexico we'll get peanuts for him... if we're lucky!
