Plenty of speculation about this move but all the paperwork is now completed.
All part of our drive to clear some of our dead wood.

Shame he never really developed in the way we'd hoped.

Carlos Vela finalises Real Sociedad switch

Arsenal Football Club can confirm that Carlos Vela has completed a permanent move to Real Sociedad for an undisclosed fee.

The Mexican international spent the whole of 2011/12 on loan with the Spanish club and enjoyed a successful campaign in La Liga, scoring 12 times in 35 appearances.

Vela, who scored 11 times in 62 appearances for Arsène Wenger’s side, made his Arsenal debut against Newcastle United in 2008. He scored a hat-trick on his first start in a 6-0 win over Sheffield United in the League Cup.

A regular in the first-team squad throughout the rest of the 2008/09 campaign, his progress was hampered by injury during the 2009/10 season, before he found form and fitness in the second half of the campaign during a successful loan stint with West Bromwich Albibion.

The 23-year-old’s final competitive game for the Gunners came in the 1-0 defeat by Ipswich Town in January 2011's League Cup semi-final. He was involved in five of Arsenal’s six pre-season games last year, scoring in both matches on the Asia Tour against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur and Hangzhou Greentown in China.

Everyone at the Club would like to thank Carlos for his contribution to the Club and wish him well for his future career.

Wish him luck. He's a great man and a very good player that just does not fit in Arsenal. I can see him scoring double figures every season in La Liga.

Chamakh and Arshavin has potential buyers too. And Bendtner is not that hard to sell.

I watched him in a youth tournament on espn when we first signed him and he was easily pushed off the ball at youth level. He was never going to cope with the physicality of the PL.

Arsenal considering Vela option?
Thursday March 14 2013 - By Football Espana staff
http://www.football-espana.net/29104/ar ... ela-option

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move to bring Real Sociedad’s Mexican forward Carlos Vela back to London this summer, but he may turn them down. The 24-year-old has been one of Real’s notable performers this season after signing permanently at Anoeta last summer for €3m. However, Arsenal included a clause in selling the striker, whereby they could buy him back at the end of this season for a slightly increased fee of €4m. Mundo Deportivo believe that no contact has been made yet, but they echo reports from earlier in the week that suggest the English are considering Vela as an option for next year. However, it is also reported that the player would have to also agree to the move, to make it happen, and that he happy enough with La Real to be prepared to turn down The Gunners’ anticipated advances. Vela is quoted on Mexican radio today discussing his future too. “I am happy, here I am getting a lot of love and trust, they let me play as I know how to, they give me my freedom and things are going well and the team is good,” he told fdp. “There are good vibes in the dressing room, we get along with each other very well on and off the field. The truth is that we have fun. My future? I’m thinking of finishing the season well, to see if we can reach Europe.”

doubt it.
You're Scared Of Change.
