Young prolific Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has snubbed Deportivo La Coruna’s interest to continue playing for Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side.

The young Mexican has been linked in the last 48 hours with a switch to the Riazor stadium along with his friend and Tottenham hitman Giovani Dos Santos, but Vela’s agent Eduardo Hernandez made all clear that his client is staying with the north London outfit.

Hernandez had talks recently with the Gunners Manager and Chairman Peter-Hill-Wood about Carlitos future and for Mr. Wenger is Vela a big part of Arsenal’s future, so that the French man rejected any inquiry for a switch of the talented and pacy winger.

Hernandez said:

“We appreciate the interest of Deportivo in Carlos… They are not the first team to have shown an interest, but we talked recently with Arsenal and we are told that there is no possibility of him going to another club.”

With Carlos recently in tremendous form, we all hope that he stays injury free, because then he can explode for the Gunners in the upcoming campaign, as the Italy game showed how tough it is to handle him. You could see that the best international defense could just stop him with bad tackles.

Good to hear.

He's yet to really hit form for us (although his goal on the last day of the season was pretty good), but I think he could be a great player for us.

I think he's got to make the breakthrough next season though. He's already a regular for Mexico, so I don't think he'll be happy sitting on the bench for us for too much longer.

Fair play to him, even though he hasn't gotten much of a chance he's decided to stay & fight on.

As above, I really hope he does well next season.

why are people saying fair play to him? when so many are slating cesc.

"but we talked recently with Arsenal and we are told that there is no possibility of him going to another club"

so vela's people have been looking at options and possible move and decided to talk to arsenal about his future to which arsenal have said they won't sell him.

sounds like just another mercenary who as soon as he starts getting a profile starts to look for new desintations.

Is he on a free? If not, how can he snub other clubs unless Arsenal want to sell him?

with Vela I think people can show some understanding as he didnt get much playing time even when he wasn't injured. the guy is a talent and is leading Mexico's line atm why wouldn't he be looking for first team action? he may also been looking at a loan move to Wigan if rumours are true

I expect to see Eduardo out this summer and Vela filling his role of the past season. Don't have a problem with it at all really, just hope Eddie can get "it" back on loan if possible, rather than getting sold.

This is good news but until we go back to 4-4-2 I can't see him having much of a look in.
