RVP - Injury-free thanks to GPS

Robin van Persie has revealed the secret to his success at staying injury-free is down to the GPSports system being employed at Arsenal this season.

The Dutch ace has remained fit throughout the season and is now on course to break Alan Shearer's mark of 36 goals in a calendar year.

And Van Persie believes the only reason he has been able to carry on hitting the back of the net is all down to GPSports, a system which monitors players' performance.
Step back

Van Persie told The Sun: "I can play three matches every week and last year I did that many times.

"But sometimes, I have to take a step back as I did against Olympique Marseille in November.

"In the phase before that, I'd played a lot and from the measurement results it showed that I had to rest.

"The trainer wanted me to start the match but at the last moment decided to go along with the results of the GPS system and that was that I could play for a half hour.

"And a couple of days later against West Brom I benefited from that."

Four days after the goalless draw with Marseille at the Emirates - in which the 28-year-old played for 28 minutes - he scored in the victory against West Brom and is now top of the goalscoring charts with 15 strikes already this season.
Sceptical

He said: "Ultimately, I've been fit now for more than a year and have played in every Premier League match.

"Because of that folk are now seeing that, after all, there is more to me than they thought.

"Of course I understand that there are still some people who are still sceptical about my injuries but when you look closely how they occurred then it's another story.

"The conclusion is that I couldn't have prevented them.

"That's why it's unfair and misplaced that they say that I was responsible but that's how it is in the top sport."

So he's got a satnav presumably on his ankle to tell him where the goal is? Why hasn't chamakh been fitted with one yet?

Did we not have enough of them to give to the full backs this season?

Diaby took them all one for each leg and another for his groin yet there is no sign of his comeback
He is always two weeks away from full fitness and a minute away from another injury..

That rack laid the ball into Benayoun's path for the goal against Olympiakos.

Was wrong, and was fairly sure he'd be on the bench.

Don't care what it is as long as it keeps working. We would be well and truely stuffed this season without him.
