Don't get your hopes up too high, now. Are you familiar with Murphy's Law?

Injuries are our biggest enemy, we always seem to be missing the key components in our team for the big games. It happened to Chelsea last season against us and look what happened.

Brushed.

Really hoping we can keep the top boys fit and make a proper go of it this time round.

Are you joking me?

With Cesc and Nasri looking to return, we are a better team than Tottenham and Liverpool and of the teams remaining, I think we are equal with City and better than Chelsea and their aging squad. Only Man Utd stands as truly hard test, and even then I won't doubt our chances to pull something from a game with them.

The people on this site are turning into the worst supporters. Makes me f***ing ashamed. What happened to any belief in our players and opting for a positive outlook and expecting something good to happen.

Seriously look at our squad:

Cesc=Best midfielder in the league
Song= Top three cdm in the league
Vermaelen=top three cb in the league
RvP=best striker in the league
Sagna=best rb in the league
Nasri= top three cam in the league
Wilshere= one of the top midfielders in the league

How can a team with these players not be ambitious? Now add Gervinho to the list, and another one or two. That team is one of the best in the world let alone England.

Cesc and Nasri want to leave.

When they eventually move on and are replaced from within RVP will start asking questions.

If Frimpong starts playing well and song wants more money AW might decide to cash in on Song (like he did with clichy replacing him with gibbs).

When cahill goes to a big club and starts winning things Jack might start asking questions about why we didn't make a bid and why we aren't winning things.

How long before a barca or real start sniffing around sagna (wenger has jenkinson so might be tempted to cash in) or vermaelen.

We are seen as easy pickings for clubs like barca. We are not ambitious in the transfer market. Ambitious players want to win things and play alongside the best players in the world. They don't want to settle for a top four finish and play alongside talented youngsters.

not really... RVP missed a good portion of the season, Vermaelen basically missed the whole thing and Cesc was in and out of the side and never really looked his best

however, I don't really agree with mg86
I would hardly say Nasri is among the top 3 "centre attacking midfielders" in the league, we play him on the wing so who would know?

I thought there was talk that RVP only signed his last contract due to Wenger promising to strengthen the squad etc? Can't remember where I heard/read it. Might of been on here. Was only a few weeks ago.

I believe Wenger gave him assurances that the squad would be strengthened before he signed.

Our squad is not too much of a problem. Chez, Sagna, TV, Kos, Gibbs, Song, Wilshere, Nasri, Arshavin, Fabregas, Walcott, RVP, Gervinho and Chamakh, there is enough there to win a treble. But something has to be stepped up in training, Wenger should show videos of a tragic set piece downfall and how we don't worry teams from our dead balls and we should work on that some more, this is a contributing factor we have had a lot of mistakes, a few bad refereeing decisions and a lot of injuries. Them things have seen us crash out of all four competitions.
Follow me on twitter @JordanLovesey!

The only proven winner in red and white at this club? Arsene Wenger. Sack the board.
