RvP back in training

RvP is back in training. Pictures show he took a full part and ran and kicked freely.

Looks like he's made a miraculous recovery. Dunno if he's fit enough to be included for barca though.

I wasn't expecting him back till October!!! Great news.

Even if he doesn't play till next week, we are going to need him for the title run at the end of the season.

I hope to Bergkamp they're not rushing him back!

That looked like a full training session, no light jogging off on his own somewhere!

Oh come on. Its not negative to say an injury prone player will get injured.

RVP has never failed in getting injured when we need him the most yet and i cant see him starting now.

Although i must say, i am surprised he is back in training already. Didnt expect to see him back til January at the earliest

I wonder if AW has been playing mind games and wrapping RvP in cotton wool just for this fixture?
He may have refused using RvP for the Sunderland game fearing he may aggravate it and thus be ruled out for longer.

If so this might just be a masterstroke. Especially as Barca are without key defenders tomorrow night.

Van Persie makes early return to training

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has ignited hopes of a shock comeback in time to face Barcelona after being photographed in full training on Monday.

Van Persie had been ruled out of the trip to the Nou Camp after injuring his knee while scoring against Birmingham in the Carling Cup final last month.

But pictures released on the club's official website show Van Persie apparently participating in full training, raising hopes that he could be included in Arsene Wenger's squad list for the trip to Barcelona.

The Netherlands international returned to his homeland for treatment on the injury that kept him out of Arsenal's last Premier League game against Sunderland.

The initial prognosis was not good, with Wenger expecting his star striker to be out of action until the international break at the end of March. Speaking after the Carling Cup final on February 27, Wenger said: "I am not a specialist but he overstretched his knee at the back when he made the volley [to score against Birmingham].

"He got kicked or blocked by the defender and overstretched when he hit the ball. In fact we lost Van Persie after 30 minutes, we tried to keep him going in the second half but he was injured.

"It is a ligament at the back of the knee, a tear in the ligament. It is three to four weeks, I take the short delay because I am an optimist but it could be four. As well it is the international break during that period so whether it is three or four [weeks], for us it is the same."

I would love for Wenger to have done that Gza. I would have us as clear favourites if RvP was fit. But the last thing I want to happen is for them to rush him back, even if the injury wasn't as bad as they first made out.

Still, a 75% fit RvP would destroy Abidal and Biscuits.

Robin van Persie has been added to the Arsenal squad for their Champions League clash with Barcelona.

The Dutch forward was substituted during the Carling Cup Final on February 27 after suffering a knee injury. But he trained with his team-mates at London Colney on Monday and has travelled to Spain.

Arsène Wenger has named a 19-man squad. This will be cut to 18 ahead of Tuesday's game at the Nou Camp.

Arsenal squad:
Manuel Almunia
Wojciech Szczesny
Johan Djourou
Gael Clichy
Emmanuel Eboue
Kieran Gibbs
Laurent Koscielny
Bacary Sagna
Sebastien Squillaci
Cesc Fabregas
Andrey Arshavin
Jack Wilshere
Tomas Rosicky
Samir Nasri
Abou Diaby
Denilson
Nicklas Bendtner
Marouane Chamakh
Robin van Persie
