Van Persie out till mid-October...

Van Persie out till mid-October...

Postby GunnGunn » Tue Sep 07, 2010 4:43 pm

Just confirmed...

Arsène Wenger has received some mixed injury news as he prepares his team to face Bolton at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

On the plus side, Samir Nasri is ahead of schedule in his recovery from knee surgery.

The Frenchman sustained a meniscal injury against Liverpool on the opening day of the season and was expected to be sidelined for a month. But Nasri will return to full training in the next few days.

However, Robin van Persie will have to wait a little longer before he is back in the first-team frame.

The Dutchman injured his ankle against Blackburn Rovers on August 28 and will be sidelined for longer than first anticipated. Van Persie is likely to be out of action until mid-October.

Look out for a full injury update from Arsène Wenger on Arsenal.com this Thursday.

Predictable but still hugely disapointing.

Seriously this is ridiculous. When Wenger said 10 days I knew that would be nonsense. We all love RvP but a decision has got to be made. No point in having a Ferrari if it doesn't have wheels.

Exactly.

I don't hate the fact that he gets injured, i hate the fact that when he is here, playing, we are great, when he is injured, we go to shit, then start to get back to being great, then he comes back, we are even better, then he gets injured, and we are shit again!

Lia-fucking-bility.

At least we have squad depth now. Question arrises of course, do we have another CF to do the job. Yes we have Chamakh. Should have Bendy soon too, and he of course showed us that he can handle the pressure last season. Would and should be mad, but I actually think we have adequate cover. Don't even get me started though on how tired I am of Robin van Injured. If this takes into November, just stick with Chamakh starting and Walcott on the RW and sub RvP in, maybe his body cannot seriously handle 90 minute playing time each week over a prelonged period of time.

I've had enough of him honestly.

I don't care how much flack I draw for saying this... but he needs to be sold.

He's a liability and taking up space. We can't buy another class striker because they're not going to want to share the space when RVP is healthy and Wenger is going to be hesitant because he doesn't want to overload the position. But in the same breath we never know if and when he will be available to play.

Sell him and we don't have to worry.

Only problem with doing this... Wenger wouldn't buy anybody to replace him...

It pains me to say this too, as RVP is the only name I've ever gotten on an Arsenal shirt...
This space used to be more fun...

Wont get flack from me Leody. I think it was last season both Trina and I and a few others I can't remember said it might be time we sold the Perse.
We are very short in the striker area, Chaaammmaaaackh is still new and Bendy is injured, so I doubt les boss would sell him. Next summer if someone offered about 20 m I'd sell him in a heart beat though. Saying thnat clubs are obviously going to be wary over his injury issues....sorry I mean the fact that he is "unlucky"

Lia-f***ing-bility.

If Chamakh stays fit and healthy I don't see that as a problem anymore. He can step in seamlessly.
