sigh @ murray haters. Most people dislike him cos he said a factual comment that scottish people would rather support anyone than england at a world cup when scotland arent there. Also if you follow tennis you would notice he is no where near as bad as he was.

Anyway all in all yes he was beaten by the better player and the greatest ever player. The form fed had 2day no one could beat him. Though 3 solid days of tennis against the best 2 players atm will have an affectespecially after waht he put in vs nadal.

i dont think nadal could have coped with fed on hard court either to be fair though

he lost his 1st serve % and federer is more aggressive and clinical than nadal on the 2nd serve returns, so thats why murray lost

fed hardly made any errors or give any "cheap" points away

murray apart from his serve played well, really enjoy watchin him because he has flair, can pull out the magical shots

surely this is just another step forward on to winning a couple of majors

cool guy, down to earth, means what he says and invariably meets his targets, better than that posh tart we had to endure the last decade= "tiger" tim

Is it me or does Murray always complain of an injury when he goes behind in a match?

lol, not always, obviously he was really young when we first saw him and was a rake and it was natural for him to pick up injuries due to his physique or lack of.

i saw him have a few twinges in his knee, i think he had probs with that a while back, and hard courts are notorious for f***ing up knees, and ankles

did he say anything about being injured btw?

Doesn't only stop at Murray.

Roddick said that Djokovic had every ailment from anthrax to the common cold... :rofll:

ttbh the main reason i dont think nadal would of beaten fed is because nadal plays more deffensive from the baseline which is better on the slower courts i.e grass and clay. This was one of the big reasons for murray beating nadal.

I don't understand the Murray haters either Bristol.
If he'd beaten Federer he'd have been the only man in history to beat Federer and Nadal within 24 hours of each other.
If you can't respect that then you're obviously not a tennis fan.

Funny how when Tim was at his peak (but losing) people complained that he was too nice and had no personality which was why he had no belief, and now the same people are saying that Murray is too arrogant and grumpy.
What do you want, an arrogant winner or a nice loser?

Even if I had great respect and admiration for Nadal for his amazing season,it feels really good to see Roger win a grand slam again!!

He is now back in race to bring down the Sampras record of 14 Grand Slam!! :hail:

About Djokovic...I am part of the 95% of people who f**k++++ HATE HIM!! :naughty: :lipssealed:

Well, Murray is one of my favorites after this tourny. But Federer is still and will alway be my favorite :) Murray played pretty well, but Federer was too good today. He was not at his top form, but he was atleast 9/10th of his best. :|

I'm glad Federer won. He was written off and it was great to see him back near this best. US Open champion, French Open and Wimbledon runner-up, Australian Open semi-finalist. Not bad for someone having an off year! Nadal has taken most of the plaudits and publicity this year, so at least Federer can quietly get back on track. The Sampras record of 14 grand slam titles is within reach. I reckon he could break it at Wimbledon next year. That would be something.

Dunno a great deal about tennis but, didn't the bigwigs LTA (or whatever the equivalent) decide that in order to entice the clay courters to Wimbledon they should slow the grass surface? Dunno if they did the same with hard courts but, I think the Sky Sports commentators mentioned something about the courts at Flushing Meadow were adjusted to make it easier for baseliners to play there?
I know the tennis balls have also been modified but, I think it's unfair that the grass/hard courts have been tampered with to attract the clay folk but, Clay is still as difficult as ever for non-clay court specialists.
No wonder Nadal's rise has been so meteoric! If he was around a few years earlier he'd've been no better than Gustavo Kuerten. Great on Clay, shit on everything else!

But it's just my opinion, so I could be wrong... :dontknow:

Murray got outclassed on the day .. I've got no doubts the overall experience of gettin to his first grand slam final will set him in good stead for the future..

I dont get it why does everyone hate novak? :o

p.s. In my opinion clay is much easier to play on than grass - It was clay I used to play on most.. Just so happens tennis is thhe only sport I was half decent at lol apparently I used to have a mean backhand ( until my gammy hand of course now I cant play )
