I'm rooting for Federer and Djokovic. Don't like Nadal... at all!

I can't really see past Federer in the mens, he is simply awesome on grass. That said, Nadal has improved a lot on grass, and will be stiffer opposition to last year. Murray should get through to the second week, but it's a question of how far he can get once he meets the bigger guns.

My tip for the ladies is Jelena Jankovic who won the mixed doubles last year with Jamie Murray. Of course there is plenty of eye candy in the ladies section, so I'll be taking a careful interest.

I;ve got a fair whack on Djokovic so he'll do me proud!

In the ladies I think it'll come down to, if it's possible. Serena Williams and Ivanovic. I'd be very excited about that game :1970_two_smileys_drinking_beer_together.gif:

Serena Williams didn't have it all her own way, but she did get through...... Eventually.

That should have been a formality, but she made hard work of it. I think it was something like an hour and 15 minutes, which is possibly longer than Federer took to take apart Hrbaty in three sets.

And we have a British lady through to round two, which is nice. Not often the British ladies have a lot to shout about these days.

And it would be the same if she spent a night with me :sneaky2:

Oooh no! Serena Williams? No thanks!

Andy Murray is up today. He ought to stroll through without breaking too much sweat.....

Isn't he playing the guy who holds the record for most professional losses?

I think Murry should walk this one.

I can't believe this many of you watch tennis. I like playing it, but watching it is absolutely horrifically boring. I think I'll be washing my hair. Just my opinion of course. ;)

I just watched Venus Williams, who struggled early on against a local girl, but recovered to wallop her in the second after a tie break in the first.

Nadal now, and a chance to see his improvement on grass, followed on Centre by Andy Murray.

Interesting to see a challenge on the first point of the Nadal game.....

Wimbledon is a very British thing, Chris. Strawberries and cream washed down with lashings of Pimms, rainy days, Cliff Richard and pinning all our hopes on a British win! I do try to have all my illnesses during Wimbledon fortnight! Aside from Wimbledon, I don't think many people actually bother though......

I see, so aside from Wimbledon, do you watch tennis any other time?

I do, I usually watch all the majors. My favourite is the Australian open. It's well good to watch.

Edit - and Serena Williams arse is a masterpiece!

I don't, usually because of the timings. But I do keep up to date with everything going on in The World of tennis via the interweb/media.

Wimbledon is just a tradition for me. It was probably something to do with Sue Barker winning The French Open in 1976, and I had a huge crush on her, I can tell you! Then Virginia Wade won Wimbledon in 1977, which was Jubilee year, and I've been hooked ever since. Not to mention that there is some cracking looking ladies every year!
