Tennis lives once more

Despite the moaning at the end, Fernandez was great all tournament and being a sore loser shouldn't take away from that.

But this is raducanu time.

Incredible achievement by Raducanu. 2040 points is the most points anyone has ever earned from a single tournament (+40 for going through the qualifiers). Even if she defends the tournament next year, she will still lose points.

Will be very interesting to see how she deals with the overnight fame and all the attention that's coming her way in the next few weeks. It's all been a fairy tale until now, but, for better or worse, she's a huge celebrity now and she will have to learn to play with those expectations.

I think she has got used to the limelight a bit after Wimbledon. She will have great expectations at every tournament she enters now though. She's the one to beat and they will suss out her game a bit more. She has done brilliantly though and seems to be a natural in the interviews.

Incredibly poetic ending as Medvedev gets audibly booed while serving for the match, by the same crowd who booed Djokovic all these years as he was winning against Fed/Nadal. And Djokovic, finally with the crowd on his side, sheds a tear at the irony of the whole situation. Can't wait for people to say Medvedev got booed because he lacks class and because of his antics on the court.

As for the GOAT race, It's objectively been over since the French Open, but we will have to wait a while longer for Djokovic to get 21 and shut up even his biggest detractors.

Damn Novak could've won the Golden/Calendar Slam this year.

Amazing year obviously but he bottled it like Serena in 2015.

The weight of history got to them both.
