Here’s an interesting stat: take Bolt away and the top 26 fastest times run for the 100m all belong to athletes who have failed a drug test.

Incredible and shocking.

At what point do we attribute his dominance to enhanced testosterone levels and ostracize him from the competition?

Semenya is intersex.

She is hyperandrogenous, not intersex whatever the f**k that's supposed to mean. She also isn't the first athlete that is hyperandrogenous but she's the first to be treated as if she isn't a woman and it's got everything to do with how she looks, and nothing to do with any bullshit reason you read about in the Mail.

Calling her a man is hate speech and pathetic.

That is true, and while it may be unfair, she will obviously draw more attention to the issue because she does look masculine. I've been reading about it and the IAAF only started regulating hyperandrogenism after she burst onto the scene. The entire debate basically started with and revolves solely around her.

You're getting way too hung up on me calling her a man though, it was just a throwaway comment - not "hate speech".

You can't claim it's a throwaway comment when you've had multiple posts calling her a man and using he instead of she

Didn't know it was a real term. We've always used hermaphroditic here in SA. Couldn't be bothered to look it up because I was pissed off

If someone has an unfair advantage due to a disability or abnormality I don't think its unreasonable to exclude them.

Equal opportunities should work both ways

If you have too much testosterone in your body because you injected it, you'd be DQd. Too much because you happen to produce too much should also see you DQd

Otherwise all the other competitors should be allowed to inject the appropriate amount of testosterone to match hers.

This is the USA basketball I know. :)

Up on Serbia 88-47 in the goal medal game with 5 minutes left.

You should be proud of Serbia, Jedi! They've surprised me in these Olympics.
