Amazing pundit. Love seeing him on the BBC.

Yup. Fully agree. If he wasn't part of the punditry, I wouldn't watch.

Cost 20 times less than the London one did yet equally as impressive.

London humiliated.

Stupidest post you've ever written, and that's up against some strong competition.

The men's cycle road race is the main event tomorrow, the course is supposedly brutal which could give froome a chance of a medal.

Rafa Nadal carried Spain's flag. Legend.

Didn't see Bolt when Jamaica came out. Shelly Ann Fraser carried their flag

Although the London Olympics was a very positive thing overall I do agree with this.

Stratford got badly needed regeneration, and we got a nice new public park out of it, but why does the government need a special reason to do that? And to make it worse they lost an untold amount of money on that bloody stadium.

A lot of the money pumped in was private via residential and commercial investment. Sometimes, it takes a mammoth event like the Olympics to get the big companies in to an area to kick-start it.

They wont go if they think there's a chance they're the only ones there. The Olympics and government investment in the area pushed up land prices enough to make the sale values / commercial rents worth it.

In the long run, it's only been a good thing for East London and Stratford in particular. It created loads of jobs, revamped a whole area (I remember Stratford in the early 90s, Stratford Rex, a few taverns I can't remember the name of) before all the investment. It's completely unrecognisable now. Still blows my mind coming off the A12 past the old porche garage and down the one way system.

Re the stadium, it was as much the government's fault they put boys in to negotiate with men that the publics been ripped off. I'm so gutted that for once, the tories didn't divert that huge consultancy budget they spunk away every year to pay for a proper agent to thrash out terms with sullivan, gold and Brady.

Fecking inept.

Terribly sorry. It seems nearly 600 posts and over 2 years on the forum is not enough to offer an opinion.

I bow to you Lord Cripps.
