Ryder Cup 2014

Postby Vinny » Fri Sep 26, 2014 8:10 am

Europe V USA

Have been lucky enough to have attended the Ryder Cup in The Belfry 2002 and The K Club 2006.
Have to be honest, think team golf is the best sport in the world, and the Ryder Cup is the pinnacle of that.

Europe have been the more dominant team in the last 20 odd years and are favourites again this year in Gleneagles in Scotland.

Think USA will be stronger this year with the Awesome Tom Watson as Captain.

Morning Fourballs

Justin Rose & Henrik Stenson v Bubba Watson & Webb Simpson

Martin Kaymer & Thomas Bjorn v Rickie Fowler & Jimmy Walker

Stephen Gallagher & Ian Poulter v Jordan Spieth & Patrick Reed

Rory McIlroy & Sergio Garcia v Phil Mickleson and Keegan Bradley

Europe off to a fast start up in the first 2 matches, and down in the 3rd.

Looking forward to 3 full days of drama and hopefully a European win.

Himself and Gallagher are not playing well at all Mesut.

Still he has the best % win rate of any European Ever in the Ryder cup and expect him to find some form, maybe not this morning.
One of our own as well.

Rose is playing fantastic.

Big Effort needed from Rory and Sergio - that is the one the Americans are hanging their momentum on.

Match 2 Halved.

In a match USA were never ahead in Jimmy Walkers chipped in on 16 and birdied 18 to get a half.

Fair Result.

Match 4 is on 16 with Europe 1 up. Keegan Bradley is 10 foot away for an Eagle opportunity.

Fantastic stuff :arse fan:

Two massive turn arounds in the Kaymer match dropping a 1/2 point and the all important Garcia/Rory pairing turning a 2 down to 1 up
