Been more boxing and Arsenal for me.
Might have to catch a game before Xmas.
Will recap the year for you:
Carson Wentz goes bananas and starts playing like the stud I knew he was destined to be (despite the lacklustre rookie season). Me and all Eagles fans out here knew in our hearts we had found our franchise QB, no more Chip Kelly era gimmicks, our offense was well balanced, and with our merciless front seven on defense we were cruising.
Meanwhile about half the league finally gets over their unfounded hatred of Philadelphia and start respecting and admiring the Wentz era, whilst the other half keep waiting for Eagles to lose to bring them down a peg. Eagles lose to Seattle (well just Russel Wilson really, they better pray they never lose him) and the critics come out of from hiding. The following week Wentz picks up where he left off by putting on another clinic against a strong Rams team until the most devastating, f***ked up, heartbreaking, doomsday scenario occurs and he tears his ACL and is ruled done for the season
In a season in which the football gods deemed it necessary to take away Rodgers, Watson, JJ Watt to name a few, this was perhaps the most gut wrenching given we had just moved to 11-2 after beating a formidable team away, weeks away from playoffs where we were likely to be number 1 seed with homefield advantage. Quite literally, if ever the universe was aligned for the Eagles to finally win their superbowl this was it, and boom over
I was done with football (European) a long time ago cause of Wengerism
Now for different reasons I am done with the NFL, too heartbreaking, my Pats fan friend and I were ready for a Brady - Wentz showdown in February, it'll be too sad to watch Case f***ing Keenum in the superbowl knowing what could/should have been
