Didn't watch it but pleased for him. Don't feel any great warmth towards Murray because he does seem a bit of a knob but Tennis needs more champions. Be great to see if he can kick on and make it a real 4 way heavyweight fight for every grand slam.

Yea I'm not a big tennis fan, but it does need more champions, it makes it a bit more exciting.

Nice pic Yorky.

I'm glad Murray can piss with the big boys now. After Henman and Rusedski I wondered if it would ever happen or if us Brits would be perennial runners-up.
Credit to Murray for having the mental strength to actually cross that barrier and pick up the trophies/medals.
First Brit for 76 years to win the Open.

Hopefully he's now put all the fears about his mental fortitude to bed after last night. There were a number of peaks and troughs throughout. Coming through a tense first set tie break, still being able to win the second set after frittering away a double break and showing incredible resolve in the final set when Djokovic had the momentum! Not many, if any, would have predicted an Olympic triumph and US Open win, after the crushing defeat to Federer in the Wimbledon final. Next year will be even more interesting!

Yeah he was so strong mentally, really tough.
At one point I thought he'd given up because he was swearing at himself, just out of range of the mics. I'm sure he called himself a "stupid f***ing prick". Looked well pissed off.
