Did anyone else think of the Third Reich when that bird appeared at the end of the ceremony?

Okay....As an American, can I ask why the heck Elton John, Rod Stewart, The Rolling Stones, among others weren't involved in the closing ceremonies?

And who the heck is Take That?

The Stones i was surprised about, but getting the Who together overall is much bigger anyway imo.

Elton John probably will have been asked, but really.... Pet Shop Boys, George Michael, Freddie Murcury...... How camp do you want it lol

and Rod Stewart? f**k'im. Pointless musician.

Plenty of last nights show wasnt my cup of tea. You can probably guess which bits..... Take That, One Direction etc etc

But overall, a great show. Amazing visuals, Madness, Stomp, Lennon, the Who, Freddie brought back to life, and even Liam Gallagher getting in on the action. Fantastic..

Almost choked up with the Lennon clip, the Petshop boys and Madness were shit live, The Who were fookin' great! Liam needs to learn how to stop singing through his nose!!! Would have been better if Noel did that track, nice to see that that was pretty ,much the only track that literally every team were signing along to!

I really don't think those newbies (One Direction, Tinnie Tempah, Jessie J etc) have done enough to be included... although she definitely pulled off the 'We Will Rock You'.

I think Liam showed a lot of maturity to do that performance. Ten years ago he would have turned it down, not wanting to be seen alongside the spice girls etc. But he now seems to see the bigger picture. Playing one of his brother's songs as well. Well done Liam.
