I didn't watch either and they won. When I haven't watched, the Sox won and when I did watch, we got the longest ever WS game and a Dodgers' win.

Congrats to the Red Sox on winning the WS since I'll be too invested in the Saints-Vikings SNF game.

Mike Trout inks his name on the richest contract in baseball history, a 12-year, $430 million extension.

And that's a f***ing bargain for him.

Bryce Harper just signed for $330 million and gets upstaged two weeks later lol.

The money athletes earn nowadays is nauseating though, they're signing contracts worth more than some countries GDP.

Ichiro retires.

Legend, the greatest hitter to ever live.

Such a humble and self-contained person.

The Mariners did him and Junior dirty. Two of the greatest players of all-time (albeit they didn't play together save for one season) and couldn't get to the World Series once.

World's gone mad.

How on earth can anyone think that such an innocent hand sign is somehow a "racist" gesture?

Yea that's crazy. Read that yesterday.

The background story is that someway, somehow the skin heads or white supremacist movement started using that as a symbol to spread their hate. I had no idea either, but apparently that's why they're questioning it. I seriously doubt that's what this guy meant by it.

Clearly he was just doing that kids game that we all used to play in the late 90's-early 00's of getting people to look down at it. Sadly, no place for humour or trolling in PC world.

Because /pol/ over on 4chan are a bunch of trolls and the media are suckers for falling for it. Then irl dumbass white supremacists catch on and try to co-opt it. They did it with Pepe the Frog and get this....milk. Yup, they convinced some news orgs to write stories about if the consumption/the ability to consume of milk is embedded white supremacy. That was a thing for a few days. Go figure

The only thing the OK sign means to me is okay, giving affirmation during scuba diving, and the circle game.

For those who don't know what the circle game is:
A game for two or more players in which one player makes a circle with his/her hand (sort of like an "OK" sign, or similar to the American Sign Language letter F) below their waist and attempts to get the other player(s) to look at it. If at least one other player looks at the person's hand in while it's making this sign below the waist, the person who got the others to look at their hand gets to punch all of the players who saw the circle, generally in the arm/shoulder area. This is generally a game that's played all day and out of the blue. The idea is to catch the other player(s) off guard and get them to look at the "circle" below your waist to get the privilege of punching them.
