Record Wimbledon match

Postby Reverend Gooner » Thu Jun 24, 2010 2:31 am

The match between Isner and Mahut ended 59-59 after 10 hours play and no winners. World record for aces made with 98 and 95 respectively.

Did anyone see this?

I honestly can't see how they will be in a fit state to play tomorrow as their bodies are going to ache like hell. Even though they are professional athletes that is over 3 times longer than what would have been considered a long match in the first place and it was a hot day yesterday.

Whoever plays the winner next is laughing though.

Legends both of them for this. I thought it was a joke when I read the headline.

I watched it from about 30-30.

Twas epic indeed, the Yank got pissed however, because the Frenchy called it off because apparently he couldn't see the ball...

Record number of aces EVER as well, by BOTH of them.

Sod Nationalities and what sport they should watch, I seriously recommend watching the tennis today. A really high nipple count, not to mention some serious fitness in the crowd.

It's finally finished. 70-68 in the final set!

Amazing!

now the silly bastards want to put a 5th set tie break in.it was a match like this that punctured the world cup coverage. all the mickey mouse sport that takes place in the world and they want to take away something that makes sport interesting.
i guess its the same mentallity that wants the 39th game in football.
when its great its great.no need for interference
