Sports Personality Of The Year

Postby Gooner Girl » Fri Dec 11, 2009 11:14 pm

Who do you think should win?

Naturally i'm biased towards Phillips Idowu as a triple jumper myself but i feel Jessica Ennis should just pip him to get the award as she is such a quality all rounder. Having said that Tom Daley in the diving was amazing as was Beth Tweddle. I just can't decide - and why on EARTH is Ryan Giggs in there?! :dontknow:

Full list of nominations below

Jenson Button
Mark Cavendish
Tom Daley
Jessica Ennis
Ryan Giggs
David Haye
Phillips Idowu
Andy Murray
Andrew Strauss
Beth Tweddle

I would give it to Strauss but he will never get it. f**k me he has been brilliant when you consider what he has been up against and his reputation beforehand as a player.

Button doesn't deserve it but he will probably get it. F1 has a high profile on the BBC so that's going to be a big help to him. I would give it to Cavendish but I can't see him getting it.

Daley is a fellow Janner so I should be supporting him.

Usually I go for sports that I follow, but the only footballer is Giggs I don't want him to get it.

Either Haye or Button for me.

I hope Button doesn't

Button does have the rags to riches story and that may grab it for him. I think winning the World Championship with a broken hand is more wow worthy though.

Still Strauss for me though, he has carried the England team many times this year and won the ashes and a one day tourney in SA (which I would not have thought possible).

speacial mention to dan hardy.
from no-name fighting on undercards at the start of the year, to destroying his way to be the first brit to have a ufc title shot!!

why do people not want button to get it?
it was a great achievement by him.
