I went to school with Robert back in Ireland. He was a great fella. Had moved to North Carolina. Had not been in touch with him for quite a while. RIP Rob.

Ive always had a soft spot for Robert. The amount of situations he put me in on here was unreal lol. He was very outspoken and had strong beliefs. But I saw the genuine and kind guy he was, which is what I liked about him.

He needed a break from here some time ago when he was going through some personal things. I refused to delete him like he asked and said I would de-activate his account hoping one day he would come back on. Which he said he would do.

I'll miss his comments and likes on facebook :(

His sense of humor was dry/sarcastic and extremely witty. A top bloke who spoke his mind without fear. I still cannot come to terms with it.

Another good one gone, a gentleman & a Gooner, still shocked. Hope your kicking it about with Drama & Chris at the pearly gates of the big Highbury in the sky, will miss our chats, and running commentry during matches if we were both watching.

You know, I remember about 6 maybe 7yrs ago, deadline day of the transfer window & us having a heated debate ALL evening over whether will we or wont we sign anyone...and Rob was right...we didnt, and i was the red blinkered one! Rob would often bring that up when we chatted & we'd have a giggle about it then some jokey banter.....however I did get to 1-1 in another transfer window when we signed Arshavin!

Rob was also there for me when i was going through a particularly tough time a few years ago, then again when my father became seriously ill, i just wish id known he needed a friend, sometimes in our busy lives we need to stop & reflect, and this is one of those times.

Much love to Rob's family & friends and mostly to his young nephew who I know he adored.

Sleep Tight Rob xxx
