You can never have too much. Barca went after suarez when they had sanchez. madrid went after bale when they had di maria. bayern went after lewandowski when they had mandzukic. Big clubs dont ever settle for what they have and always look to improve. Sterling has higher ceiling than ox and is already a better player imo

Sterling plays for liverpool not us so no chance of us buying from a rival. We only sell to them.

They wouldn't sell us Suarez, what makes you think they'll sell us Sterling?

Sterling is a top talent with plenty of headroom but we have so many issues to fix of our own to even contemplate signing him. Even if we did, Liverpool wouldn't sell him to us. We need a DM, CB, and top quality Striker before we contemplate buying anyone else. Moreover i have plenty of faith in Ox to make the next grade and Cazorla is finding his rythm again in addition to our first choice wide men in Sanchez and Walcott. We need to get our house in order and plug the obvious holes before we go and buy Sterling.

City bound next season. They only have one English player in their starting line-up. Sterling has class + the English factor. The only reason Sterling doesn't go to City is if they pursue Reus.

I agree though. We should try and get him. He's better than all the wingers we have, bar Sanchez.

Love how no one continually raises that as an issue nowadays (City have no english starters).

He would be nice to have, but realistically, theres no way we would get him ahead of chelsea and city. Not a hope in hell.

Plus, like AF said, hes the sort of signing that takes the eye off the ball considering the other positions we need filling in.

For me:

Primary

CB x 1 rotation CB
DM x 1 main DM

secondary

Another young DM
Decision on RB
Replacement for Monreal

Luxury big money signings

ST
Anyone that truly improves over what we have. Ie Sterling

If we got anything other than this (barring unforseen catastrophe), id be baffled.

First of all, we should not enter transfers with that kind of loser mentality. Well City and Chelsea will beat us to him, so no point in trying. Secondly we can sign the defensive players we need and sterling if there is a chance, it doesnt have to be one or the other. All your secondary issues has pretty much been dealt with. Mings will sign for us, Bielik is that secondary young DM we will sign and Ainsley will be around the first team. Debuchy and Bellerin will be our right backs with Chambers being able to fill in. All we need to sign is a DM and CB. 2 players shouldnt stop us from doing other business

When that business is.likely to cost north of 40m-50m

Before or after signing Schniederlin for 20m, mings for 12m and the kid for a couple mil.

What do you think is seriously going to happen when we try and poach the best young player in the country lol.

There's having a losers mentality then there's living in a fantasy world.

40-50 million is nothing for us....We are far bigger and richer than you seem to think. Mings will be around 10 million. Morgan will be around 20 million a CB for around 10 million. And 30-35 for Sterling. 70 million is nothing for us. We will get rid of the likes of Jenkinson, Cazorla, Podolski, Campbell which should give us close to 30 million back

Is this seriously coming from the guy who put money on Sanchez signing for Juve because we had "No chance" of signing him? :rofll:

Going for Sterling would be a complete waste of our time and far too much money would be involved. Liverpool completely played us with Suarez and they'll do it again. IF City or Chelsea do go in for him i guarantee Liverpool will take them to the cleaners and will receive a silly amount of money for him (Looking at £50-70 million!). We don't need to be spending silly money when we've got plenty of good players who are already in his position.

Others have already said it but yes we do need to be pumping the money into buying defensive players.

It comes down to if he signs a contract. If he hasnt signed a contract by the summer, he will enter his last 2 years. thats when you unsettle the player and work behind the scenes. You just have to make a deal with him and make sure he doesnt sign a new contract. Once he has 1 year left on his contract, they must sell. You really think clubs like City didnt work on Nasri and sagna well before they came to their last 12 months? Or we didnt convince Chamakh to see out his contract with borduex....every club does this

I'm siding with Goon here.

£35m for Sterling
£10m + Campbell for MS
£10m for a backup CB
