Because he isn't one.

Looked like one to me against Besiktas.

Sanogo scored 4 against Benfica, so clearly he is better then Messi amirite?

You might want to try that leap again.

It's too late now even if by some miracle he was to leave. Transfer window about to close and all indications are Arsene is sitting on his arse doing f**k all so we'll have to make do with what we have.

Just hoping Theo and Diaby can recover and make some kind of decisive contribution this season.

Same here, He was pushed out wide at Barca due to their squad.

"He is a striker and he's a good finisher," Wenger told Arsenal's official website. "He made a great impression in Italy [with Udinese] - I saw him there and he was really outstanding

Yes if Sanchez is played there continuously, however the fact that he wouldn't be playing ST if it wasn't for the Giroud injury leaves a bad taste in my mouth because I wanted a starting ST and Wenger tried to palm us off with a Auxiliary striker/ winger.

Also the Carvalho ref, I mean really, we're not getting him so why use that?

However yes if they were bought I'd be happy .......... which just sets it up for the let down it's going to be when it doesn't happen.

Of course Wenger's going to say he's a striker, the fact he (alexis) got us through to the CL makes Wenger's decision to start him up front look smart. Wenger has to try and be the smartest guy in the room, that's how fragile his ego is. Sanchez is no more a striker than Arteta is a DM.

Not buying a DM would be less of a crime if Arteta wasn't injured. Hopefully he's back soon.

Hope he stays on the bench and we keep Flamini in the side if we don't get a DM.

Are there any quotes of Alexis stating that HE even wants to be a striker?

Just thinking why force a player to play in a position he doesn't want to? Not saying that's the case, only asking the question.

No one is forcing him into anything. He was a striker at everywhere except Barcelona where Messi plays in the middle. He normally had a partner up top (he'd be more effective that way here too) but he's a striker.
