PLUS Markets closing, could be good for Usmanov...

Postby TRA Dial Square » Wed May 16, 2012 6:38 pm

So I'm not sure how many people knew this but the "PLUS Markets" is closing itself down very soon and Arsenal's shares are listed, on PLUS... Companies can switch to "AIM" (Another exchange).

Apparently though it is unclear as to whether or not Arsenal are going to re-list on AIM, or remove themselves from the market completely. If they do this it means the shares will trade privately...

...Now should that happen, we should expect many small shareholders to sell before the market closes through fear of not getting the "Market" price. Therefore it's very likely that Red & White holdings could get their 30% a lot earlier than expected. - Price may also become static should he stop buying at 30%

I knew about this before didn't realise it could affect us, as much as this as with Usmanov/R&W's involvement though.

Even if he got 30% and made the offer, why would Stan sell-up?

It wouldnt, but it may force stans hand to put usmanov on the board as 2nd majority shareholder, who would have a right to have a day.

Not too sure, but usmanov may live life like. Pimp and be ready to inject serious money into the club for short - long term gain.

Stand wouldn't have a choice about putting Ussy on the board, once he hit the 30%, that's pretty much the point.

Because he could spend his own money as a board member, it wouldn't have to go through AW. He has said he'd buy players w/ his own cash if needs be, if he were on the board.

Since when do board members go above Wenger and buy their own players?

That sounds horrible. If he even considers that an option then I want him out of the club right now.

Don't ask me. I'm not a board member and I dunno how it works. He said he'd buy for the club with his own cash as well as injecting what was needed, into the club.

Btw... I mean the money wouldn't go through AW, not the actual buying of the player. Just for clarification.

IE: If it's discussed to buy I dno? Falcao or w/e and Wenger says aint got enough cash, blah blah. He wants this much in wages.

Usmanov would then go "KAPOW! HERE'S THE MONIEZ ARSENE!"

.... Sound a bit more doable?

Instead of going... Right here's £30m buy a £30m player and AW comes back with 6 £5m players.

No, because I still don't think Wenger will spend like that, thats not how he works, and that was my point.
