Chris Woods is cross-eyed and he played for England. Anyway it is not a cross-eyed player thread. So JOHAN DJOUROU INTERESTS JUVE.....

He was on top form for the majority of last season before he got injured at Newcastle, then for some reason lost form when returning, and never hit that form again.
What exactly is he being judged on??? His last few games of last season or his handful of games at right back this season?
He turned a corner last season. He was stronger in the challenge, won almost everything in the air, stayed tight and never lost CF's when they droped deep, brought the ball out of defence with confidence... he really was a different player to the young Bambi he looked like previously, he was CERTAINLY worthy of being 4th choice!!! A bad end to the year and a few shit games at RB doesn't suddenly make him shit.
... Vertonghen is better though, so if he arrived at the expense of Djourou I wouldn't complain
he's been awful at CB this year too
he played there in the 8-2 and was our worst player

Last season, he got a run of games and knew there was no one to displace him, which gave him confidence and time to pick up form. Kos still covered him alot in that period. Anyway he has reverted back to his old self to season, the sign that someone really shouldn't be playing for a team of our calibre. Look at Vermaelean he had a string of dodgy games like Milan but quickly jumped back to his old self.
We all know our injury records and we have all seen Djourou play, from this I really struggle to see why some think he is good enough to be fourth choice, when history shows that he will get a least 25+ games.

It's alot easier when you're back in your old position and are first on the team sheet week in week out.

get James Collins! He'd have the likes of Zamora in his back pocket IMO
Hannover target defender Djourou

Arsenal fringe player Johan Djourou could be bound for Hannover 96 in the January transfer window, according to reports in German newspaper Bild. Djourou, 25, has slipped down the pecking order at Arsenal and, after last year’s successful winter signing of Mame Diouf from Manchester United, Hannover are now keen to add the Switzerland international to their defence. An exhausting first half of the season - with a total of 30 games in only four-and-a-half months - saw the Leinesiders drop back to 11th position in Bundesliga. A lack of squad depth has seen them concede 31 goals, while they crashed out of the German Cup to Borussia Dortmund in late December. Hannover are believed to be ready to pay £1 million to land Djourou as they seek to claim European football again this season. Despite falling back to 11th, the club still only trail the Europa League spots by three points.
