The first Arsenal game attended was at Wembley.. In the Makita tournament "a pre-season tournament" in 1989.. I think the 1st day we beat Porto and then Liverpool beat Dynamo Kiev.. Then I didn't attend the 2nd day
The first home game I attended at Highbury was Dennis Bergkamp's debut in 1995.. a friendly against Inter Milan..
The first game at the Grove was the 1-1 draw against Liverpooo in the champions league in 2008

he he i did.We beat Liverpool one nil. A corner headed in by "he's got no hair and we don't care Stevie,Stevie Bould"

I remember i was 9 and had the ticket.. wanted to attend with my older brother but my mom didn't let me go :BangHead:
Coz we were on holiday in London and i was sick that day.. I didn't talk to her for about a week.. lol

first game i went to was 1990 against derby, my older cousin was mascot for the day and the whole family had gone down to the game. i was only 4 at the time so don't remember it.
first game i went to that i remember being at was v QPR in 93, drew 0-0. sat in the junior gunner stand right at the front, terrible view was eye level with the pitch, was a miserable rainy day.

first game i actually got to see us win wasn't until about my 15th match (half of them were reserve games at highbury) that i got to see an arsenal team win. wasn't til early 19995 when we beat forest 1-0, kiwomya scored and helder made his debut (and was quality) it was also grahams last game in charge (or maybe 2nd last) as he left a week later.

absolutely nothing as a kid beat the first sight of the highbury pitch as you walk up onto the terrace. its replicated well in the movie fever pitch, it's exactly how it felt. amazing.

george was sacked on the afternoon of that forest game mate.real dark days.george was such an important part of this clubs history. we had,nt won at home in the league for 4 months[can you imagine some of the internet warriors if that was to happen today] the only chink of light was glen helder,he had a fantastic game leading stuart pearce a merry dance. that derby game was a boxing day we won 3nil and gained a bit of ground on liverpool.
you are right highbury was special but i don,t miss end of season games like that qpr game in front of 19,000 when you looked at the bench for options and it was jimmy carter.
for me the emirates signals progress and like the appointment of wenger moved us onto another level.i love the way you was gooning at 4. i had to wait till the ripe old age of 7 before i got my 1st sniff of 1st team action.
i get no kick from cocaine but i still find arsenal a habit that i have no desire to kick.

The only upset with the 90/91 season for me was not beating the filth either home or away. The home game, I was convinced Smudger had scored down the Clock End, and was going bananas before I realised I was completely on my own!

I took my little sister to that game, it was her first ever game at a cost of £8 for her ticket (one of the few all ticket matches back then, and only because they claim 50,000 were locked out the season before)

yeh i was thrown into the gooner life very early. my auntie made me a junior gunner the day i was born. i feel very fortunate to come from a big, die hard arsenal family. both my mum and dads sides of the family are all arsenal. something like combined 30 odd family members all gooners and during the 90's there was something like 10 ST's within my family, now due to prices and family moving further away from london there's only 1 still in our family :( . even my mum and dads brothers/sisters all married other gooners. it's great, xmas was always big family parties that after dinner always ended up arsenal quizzes or putting on one of the assorted arsenal dvd's that'd been given out as presents to different people!!
only wish i could have gone a bit more regularly than i managed when living there, especially at highbury.

That was the game when the Old Bill were confiscating Mars bars as offensive weapons down the Clock End.....

Mine was the Arshavin 4 - Liverpool 4 game April 2009 with Cheese . What a fucken game !!! I think Arshavin scored his 4th in the 89th minute before Benayoun got his 2nd of the afternoon in the 93rd minute .One of the Arshavin goals Cheese went to hug me just as i was goin all crazy throwin me arms around and i elbowed him straight in the jaw . Drinks at the Arkles before and after the game , it was truly one of the best days of my life . I am forever in debt to Cheese for sortin tickets and makin my dream come true of seein The Mighty Arsenal play live !!!

I'd seen lots of Arsenal games on the telly, mainly on 'The Big Match' with the late, great Brian Moore commentating (the 1989 title clincher was watched at home on the sofa from behind a cushion), but my live first game was a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace in the 1990-91 season. I'd not long started earning my own money and I went up with a load of mates from work.

To experience the euphoria of David O'Leary nodding the 1st into the net at the North Bank end is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

My wife's first game was in 1995 (I think) against Middlesboro and it was Dennis' home league debut if I remember correctly. That won her over and she's been a Gooner ever since. I know how to show a woman a good time :)

As noted in my introduction. My first really memorable Arsenal game:

May (i think) 1979
Saturday night 7.30 pm off to bed
11.30pm woken by dad to watch the Arsenal Man U FA Cup final
Amazing scenes of the traditional finals day atmosphere
2 goal lead and home and hosed
1 back for United but still comfortable
another and the world as we knew it had changed
and then.....with barely time to scratch..... a WINNER from Arsenal.

Back to bed
Up Sunday morning - Dudley-Redhead United U12s v Warners Bay at The Bay
First half DRU up 2-0
Closing period of 2nd half - the Bay get two back in quick succession
The wind is blowing straight over the road off the lake, the skies are grey and the rain is smashing down, the pitch is a bog.

With about 1 minute to go the memory of the night before fills me with a feeling of destiny - a final shot is launched at the Bay keeper by a hopeful team mate, I follow it in - it skims off the slippery surface and bounces back off the keepers arms as I slide the rebound back between his legs to win 3-2.

From that moment - I WAS Arsenal and now, 31 years later as I come towards the end of my 35th year at Dudley Redhead I remain a GOONER!!!

Was nearly 17 years ago! Went aged 13 with my dad in the 93/94 season to watch us draw 1-1 with everton in the league at highbury. Ian Wright scored, Duncan Ferguson got sent off for a bad foul against John Jensen and my dad (not a football fan....) stood up and applauded the everton goal....

First Arsenal game watched on tv - Autum 1990. We faced the best team in the land Liverpool at Highbury. Most of my friends supported them. I as of yet didnt have a team of my own but had watched Italia 90 which got me hooked to the sport so decided to have a team of my own. I made the decision that whoever won this game, id support. Arsenal won 3-0. The rest as they say is history

First Arsenal game live - Won 5-1 v Wolves in the CC. Most notable for Cescs first goal for us.

First Arsenal game on TV - 2006 CL Semi-Final at Highbury. I'm from the States and was looking to get into the sport and just so happens my best friend has connections with the club and I skipped class to watch that game with him. Good decision I say.

First Arsenal game in person - 4-0 thrashing of Blackburn with Arshavin's first goal (the one on the touch line into the roof of the net). Fantastic game and amazing atmosphere. Went to the FA Cup match with Hull (Cesc spitting incident) a few nights later and went back last season for the 1-0 win against Liverpool.

3-0 overall record in England. Love coming back for games when I get the cash.
