So, we get Eduardo back, and GREAT to at least see him on the bench today. Cesc might...might be back in time for the Roma CL clash (God...I hope so!). Theo's getting close to a return. And Arshavin will be coming online shortly as well.

Do we move RVP up to first striker and Eduardo as second with Arshavin to the midfield/wing? Shava at #2 with RVP up top? Theo and Arshavin on the wings with Nasri to the center til Cesc is fully fit or Arshavin to the center with Theo/Nasri on the wing?

In a way, losing Ade might be a blessing in disguise. With him starting, he's only ever going to play up top. Without him, I think we have a bit more flexibility in the lineup and can mix/match according to the opponent.

Some nice combos there mate, but to be honest, I think Wenger will be predictable and just swap like for like (Ade for Bendtner), with Arshavin and Eduardo playing bit parts as they gradually return to full fitness.

I'm hoping that Theo and Cesc will come back with fire in their bellies and raring to go for the run in though

RvP is NOT a target man. Whenever he's been asked to do it he's generally struggled. He requires someone up top with him so he can float. If anything Eddy should play up top with Robin floating as he likes to do.

Just thinking back to the "goal" that wasn't. Why didn't Eboue vent his spleen then, not later? At that point he'd have been given the reason and told to shut up, and maybe none of the later incidents would have been relevant.... And maybe three points rather that one.

I suppose nothing will turn back the clock, but I'm increasingly annoyed with Eboue now. He did all he could to get rid of the boo-boys, then does everything he can to get them to return.....

Eboue should not only be fined, but transfer listed for his stupidity. Dein told him three f***ing times go away. Yet he just kept on bloody going on. Fully deserved his yellow and to make such a big deal over a nothing free kick shows the stupidity of Eboue. The second yellow was what really pissed me off. Modric barely touched him, okay in todays day and age it may be a free kick. But, why oh why did he have to kick out at Modric? He was already on a yellow and Etherington was given a straight red for less yesterday.

We were given a huge boost before kick off with Eduardo and Arshavin on the bench. Okay Spurs looked very strong in midfield, but with Nasri and Robin we had enough in us to win this match and it was made near impossible thanks to Eboue.

Spurs started off brightly and should have had a penalty for the foul on Keane by Gallas. Spurs had a few half chances here and there. Kolo was all over the place and when he allowed Pavlyuchenko passed him I was sure we were going to concede. We then had a goal disallowed for an absolute nothing "push" from Eboue on Woodgate. If that had been at the other end it would not have been ruled out. Ade then went down injured, which isn't the worst thing in the world. I was actually pleased to see Bendtner coming on as he puts in a lot more effort than Ade does, but then just as we're making the change Eboue got himself sent off.

Wenger played it well with Nasri on the right and Van Persie on the left with Bendtner up to. We had the right mix between attack and defence with ten men. Denilson and Song were very good in the middle. Their passing still isn't good enough for me, but they both showed great battling qualities. The amount of tackles Song won was unreal. Considering they were up against Jenas and Palacios who cost Spurs £20 million.

Keane had the best chance of the match for me when he headed over the bar. Song then had a great chance from a corner which he should have scored from. Spurs had a lot of possession, but never really looked liked breaking us down. Robin also came so close with his shot from the corner. Bendtner could have won it near the end, but Cudicini produced a good save. We nearly blew it at the corner pushing too many up. Spurs breaked and Jenas/Palacios not sure which one took far too long to play Modric in and Almunia made a good save to deny him.

A point was a fair result on the level of play, but given the three chances we had I feel we could have won it. We're still struggling to get a run of wins going, but there was a lot of positives from today's match.

Disappointed with 0-0 we really needed to win this game, god knows what Eboue was thinking of, not only did he let himself down he let his team mates down too, ive got no argument about Eboue being sent off but Modric walked a very fine line and how he was only booked once is beyond me.

Was good to see Eduardo on the bench, but i dont think Arshavin was ever going to feature, i think he was there basically to make up numbers & see what a London Derby is all about.
Still im trying to keep positive, we did well to not conceed being down to 10 men for 70 mins.

you just knew after Eboue got his first yellow that he'd be sent off. It was completely inevitable.
I thought Song and Nasri did a lot better in the second half, but Toure made some schoolboy errors to be honest. I admired the fight and fitness of the ten men and it would have been unfair to put Arshavin or Eduardo into that sort of situation so in the end we have to be happy with the point really. Chelsea are on the downward slope I hope but we need to step it up

Not neccesarily GunnGunn, he may have only had that jog about just for the benefit of the Arsenal supporters. ;)

Still Game Over, no point in arguing over whether he was going to play or not, im sure we will see exactly what he is capable of before too long, although thats for the Arshavin thread. ;)

this game pissed me off for few reasons!

first eboue, he's f***ing idiot, guy with yellow card hit player with no reason! for f**k sake, how can you be so stupid!?

next thing we didn't existed on the field, that game was boring, we were no better than wigan or stoke.

wenger pissed me of because he didn't even try to do anything, he could put arshavin and eduardo for last 15 minutes, there is no way that they can't play for 15 minutes. he should put them in for rvp and nasri.

and the worst thing is that spurs are really shit. there was only modrić on this pitch, and that was all.

sad game.... :disgust:

im not all that interested in wether or not arshavin would have played if it wernt for eboue,
to me its irelevant.
as is eduardo coming back.
adebayor will always start so if eduardo plays he will only replace rvp, our best player. but i suppose it does mean that bendter might not even get into the ground let alone be sub.

but either way all those players, plus nasri all look pretty good, its whats behind them thats the problem, and im afraid song, denilson, and eboue will continue to be in our midfield.

cahill and arteta outclassed them, palacios and modric did, and im sure that trend will continue. they even made lucas look good a few weeks back.

hi im new here
just wanted to give my thought on the Eboué matter .
i do like him but that was so reckless what he did. he should no better . he can be a good player some times
but sometimes isnt enough . i thought we did really well defencively even though we had 10 players
it was really good to do well against the scum
i think ashavin is a great signing  :goal11:
