Cricinfo's all time Aussie XI

Cricinfo has come up with a list of best XI for Australia

http://www.cricinfo.com/magazine/conten ... 14510.html

You agree with the selection?
I would probably pick Ponting over Chappel. But then, Chappel played in the days of uncovered pitches against Holding, Marshall, Willis et al which is no mean feat. I would also pick a fast bowler (probably Lindwall or Davidson) over O'Reilly.

You'll pick him over Lillie SE?

Not a chance! Lillie was one of the greatest ever, let alone one of the best Australians.

It's hard really, because McGrath can't be left out, nor Warne or Lillie......

Exactly! I think that is why Thomson was left out. I also don't understand the logic of keeping both Warne and O'Reilly.

I would also have Ponting instead of Chappell and I also wouldn't want Bill O'Reilly. Thomson could have O'Reilly's place but "Thommo" used to bowl a huge amount of no-balls.

Remember the corny old joke "The greatest bowler in test history is a woman" ??

"Lillian Thomson"

I'd rather have Lindwall or Davidson over Thomson tbh.

I think it's an accurate side. Perhaps Ponting is a little unlucky, but I'm not a fan of his, so it doesn't bother me.

Great to see Miller in there as well.
