Already said the above plenty of times, in fact i am pretty sure when i said that moving Van Persie into Cesc old role it was PG who said it was a silly idea

Apparently because he wouldn't score as many goals or summat?

Anyboobs, i think its a great idea, i would even go as far to say that we wouldn't even really need a ridiculously good striker (Although Cavani would be awesome) as Podolski could player there.

New keeper
Sagna - Koscielny - Vermaelen - Gibbs
Song - Arteta
Van Persie
New winger - Podolski - New winger

New striker - Giroud
New midfielder - M'Vila/Good all action CM like Dempsey
New Goalkeeper - ??????
Wingers - Anyone with pace and power

Sadly i doubt it will happen, although i can see Wenger trying something like this in pre-season.
Song - Arteta
Oxo - Van Persie - Podolski
Walcott

Wingers need to be pushed further back and van Persie further forward. We do have the best striker in the world on our hands, can't play him too deep.

Drogba..great target man once one of the best when it came to holding the ball up and playing with his back to goal but past his sell by date and i agree with the general sentiment that his diving antics would put even the likes of Bale and Young to shame..

Gibbs only needs to sort out his injury issues, i am hoping Bould will have a positive impact on the defence next season.

@ Massa

It would be dreadful not to start Mr. Reliable, Arteta.

I prefer Arteta to Song but every time I put our midfield as Arteta and Jack I get slated.

I believe that a 4-4-2 with Arteta and Jack in the middle would be amazing. IMO that combination could potentially be as good as Flamini and Cesc.

^ I'd love that, but then who would be the creative source? Arteta would be employed as the DM, while Jack will be the playmaker. We don't have the creativity that Pires had in any of our players, so we would be lacking creatively. If we go 4-4-1-1:

Szczesny

Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Santos

Walcott/Chamberlain Wilshere Arteta Gervinho

van Persie

Podolski

It looks cracking too, but can we rely on Walcott and Gervinho on the wings? Also, can they handle the pressure? Chamberlain and Miyaichi are too young to be relied upon, and Miyaichi isn't tested either.

If van Persie plays behind the striker in the 4-4-1-1, he will add that creativity. But van Persie is injury prone, so... Chamberlain is the next best option for creativity but he's too young to play all our major matches. If van Persie ships out, then I don't think we'd play this formation. Wait... I think we could if we sign Kagawa and/or Dempsey. It's possible, but I can't rely on Walcott, and Gervinho hasn't been the best either. I just hope Gervinho settles down next season and plays well. He is the best dribbler of the ball we have. His final ball and shot is just tepid though.

The Wish List-

Postby Plymouth Gooner » Sun May 27, 2012 9:40 am

We need more steel in the middle, not less, especially in a 4-4-2.

Vieira-Petit and Vieira-Gilberto were both physical defence minded partnerships, we need something similar.
Szczesny
Fabianski
Sagna--Mertesacker--Koscielny--Gibbs
Jenkinson--Samba--K.Toure--Monreal
Fellaini--Wilshere
Ramsey--Arteta
Cazorla
Rosicky
Walcott---------------Podolski
Chamberlain-------------Gervinho
Villa
Giroud
