Yohan Cabaye

Yohan Cabaye

Postby Arsenal~Fanatic » Mon Aug 27, 2012 9:17 am

Arsenal are considering a £15million move for Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in two players this week.

Though the Arsenal manager ruled out a move for Cheick Tiote, his clubmate Cabaye is understood to be on a list of targets which also includes Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila. Wenger is also keen to bring in a defender.

Wenger said: 'I'm pleased with what I have, but yes I anticipate that we will do something. Defensive midfielder? It depends on the quality of the players available. Tiote is a good player, but he's not on the way to Arsenal.'

Newcastle have yet to receive a bid for Cabaye. However, an offer of £15m may not be enough as there is little time to bring in a replacement.

Newcastle boss Pardew said: 'All my players are important, and they are hard to replace now. You lose a big player now and you try and take someone out from somewhere else and they want a replacement and time is suddenly running down. You can't get anyone in and we want to avoid that.'

Manchester City and Tottenham are also keen on M'Vila.

I read M'Vila said something like "Tottenham is the club of the future" or words to that effect.

Would like to have seen Tiote here. But either way I think someone with PL experience who can hit the groung running shoould be aquired.

Don't see the Skunks allowing Cabaye to leave unless its for an exhorbitant fee. Pardew really covets that bloke.

Any good player is fine as long as Ramsey and Diaby aren't playing.

Dont see this happening although if we offer mega bucks then Pardew could be over-ruled by their owner.

its that time of the season when arsenal are feeding names to the media about players they have no chance of getting to make the fans calm down

Cabaye would be a fantastic signing but i think it would take a bid well in excess of £20million for Newcastle to sell him this late in the transfer window.

Only thing about buying premiership is price tags. They wouldnt let him go for £15m. We wouldnt pay more than £15m end of.

Yeah if we were buying from ourselves we would get Cabaye both on the cheap and before the selling club had time to replace him.

^ So you want Diaby? Currently, it's: Diaby, Ramsey, and Coquelin--the pecking order for that other spot until Rosicky and Willy boy returns. I don't want to be rushing Willy boy though.

Of course I don't want f***ing Diaby playing. But Cabaye aint the player we need. You need quality in your team but also variety. He's the same as Arteta

We need better than Cabaye and M'Vila. Running out of time and options though.
