Yes he did, He was given a chance, he took it, and we never heard from him again. 2 seasons ago, beginning of the seasons. He makes 3 goals in 2 subs. After that, wenger didnt play him again.

What season was this? He's never made an impact in the first team. A few good touches here and there and maybe one or two decent goals in cups against lower league opposition... that's it.

2010-2011, mate. 1 goal against bolton(with the 50 or so passes), the game after, 2 goals against braga. He came on at the 79th minute in the bolton game, and the 63th minute in the braga game. thats 3 goals in not even 40 minutes of playing time. Im not saying he was good enough, because im not sure of that. But he was given a chance in that 2010 season, scored 3 goals 1 half and in that season we barely heard from him again. Im sure there must of something happend behind the scene because it was rather odd.

btw came across this

Both games were well and truly dead by the time he scored though. 3-1 up and Bolton with 10 men and no longer looking interested, and 4-0 up against Braga. It's easy to play well when you're winning, what is more telling for me is that he went missing when we brought him on a couple of times when we needed a goal, and he barely touched the ball.

I've been told that Arsenal have the option to buy Vela back at any time. Tells me Wenger still believes he could fulfil his potential. Just needs to change his attitude and train hard.

He will never end up good enough for regular football with us. He will sparkle every now and then.

At least 1 million more for the lad!
