What Im saying must have hit you hard as it seems Im describing you. What do you mean small big fish in small pond, put Van Persie in small team and people will say big fish in small pond. How do you prove you are good enough to play for a big club before you play for a big club? I mean how many of our players have proved themselves playing for big clubs before coming to Arsenal and showing they are good enough? So why is being a Fulham player being held against him? Look at the guys background and you will see he played college football untill 22. His background is what has made his move to a big club delayed.
Also what did we win with Fabregas? The idea that we need to replace Fabregas with another Fabregas doesnt make sense. Every team is looking for a creative midfielder who gets 20 goals a season, problem is they are not easy to find. Dempsey is not as creative as Fabregas, but who says in a team the creativity has to come purely from the attacking central midfielder. Strengthen the wide areas and let them take some of the burden of the creativity and you couldnt find better player to play behind Van persie than Dempsey.
If Dempsey comes here he will compete with ramsey and rosicky and he is clearly better than both. Thats all that matters
I would love Dempsey here as long as he comes along with and not instead of a creative midfielder . For me Diaby isn't good enough and he gets injured out of bed. I would take Dempsey as a replacement for Diaby and if he shows the form he has shown for Fulham , he will make the starting spot his own. Ramsey for me simply has to be no more than a sub in his current form. We need more competition for places and variety in our attack. Dempsey can play on the left hand side and also as a SS but knowing Wenger if he goes for Dempsey he won't buy another midfielder. In a nutshell replace Diaby with dempsey buy a quality CAM/play-maker and we are set to go. we have AOC,Theo, Ryo and Gervinho in wider areas. We will get Podolski who can also play on the LHS. Ideally we could do with somebody like a Robben but even if we don't sign a winger i wouldn't mind as long as we take care of main areas. What i am worried about is that whether Podoslki will end up as our sole signing this summer .
