Djourou is not good enough, even though I disagree that he is a shit player. I have seen many worse players. He is simply not good enough, especially for big match. If Vertonghen come, then he should leave.
Our president supports Arsenal. Got a problem with that?

Djourou should be nowhere near our starting eleven and 4th choice CB is too close, IMO, considering the teams injury record. He should be demoted to 5th choice CB or leave.

I'll gladly welcome a CB rotation of Vermaelen, Koscielny, Vertonghen, and Mertesacker :cloud9:

There's no way in hell Juve are that dumb to sigh Johan lol. This is wishful thinking and I agree with others that he should be our 4th backup CB if he stays. God does he suck ass.

Don't understand this at all. Juve have a stellar defense and Buffon has more clean sheets than anyone. Are they looking to compromise that?

Suddenly he's the shittest CB to have ever walked the planet. People are forgetting how good he was last year in Vermaelen's absence.

He was on top form for the majority of last season before he got injured at Newcastle, then for some reason lost form when returning, and never hit that form again.

What exactly is he being judged on??? His last few games of last season or his handful of games at right back this season?

He turned a corner last season. He was stronger in the challenge, won almost everything in the air, stayed tight and never lost CF's when they droped deep, brought the ball out of defence with confidence... he really was a different player to the young Bambi he looked like previously, he was CERTAINLY worthy of being 4th choice!!! A bad end to the year and a few shit games at RB doesn't suddenly make him shit.

... Vertonghen is better though, so if he arrived at the expense of Djourou I wouldn't complain :hiding:

Yeah I remember the goal welbeck scored against him. Pathetic to get that out muscled and out jumped.

Edit: he's also completely clueless when it comes to set pieces and marking

He is being judged on 1 game ?. Said before all our squad players cannot be complete superstars. As a squad player he is ok.

off the top of my head...
This season:
Sunderland in the FA cup, United away, every time he's played at right back
Last season:
Stoke at home, yids away, Fulham away, Bolton away

don't try and tell me it's only one game
and that one game you're referring to is the worst performance I have ever seen from an Arsenal player

Well Bear we just have a different view. No probs. But you are being very unrealistic to expect such a strong squad as it appears you do. And one final thing Bear, Get over that certain game. I want to forget it.

He needs to replace Squillaci as 5th choice CB (with Squillaci leaving during the summer hopefully). I remember quite clearly how good he was in the past, but ever since that season he has not looked one bit convincing. For a team like Arsenal, he needs to be demoted or sold if he doesn't fancy fighting for his spot.

This is what needs to be done, if we want to stand a chance at winning something next season.

I hope no one at the club forgets that game, especially the players and the coaching staff. If they remember how much it hurt to be humiliated like that, they won't allow it to happen again.

And it's not unrealistic to expect a defender to be able to defend. We can get much better quality than him for a decent price. It's not as if he's even a youngster... at 25 years old, you don't expect him to be making such elementary mistakes and have such glaring deficiencies in his game.

Last season, he got a run of games and knew there was no one to displace him, which gave him confidence and time to pick up form. Kos still covered him alot in that period. Anyway he has reverted back to his old self to season, the sign that someone really shouldn't be playing for a team of our calibre. Look at Vermaelean he had a string of dodgy games like Milan but quickly jumped back to his old self.

We all know our injury records and we have all seen Djourou play, from this I really struggle to see why some think he is good enough to be fourth choice, when history shows that he will get a least 25+ games.
