You read all around this forum about how you all hate mercenaries then want to sign one of the biggest.

Having a Manchester City fan complain about mercenaries? Never saw this one coming.

Did you see what happened when Sturridge left City? It was all about money because we wouldn't match his demands. Not just guessing it's about money like people do with City players.

My point though was that a lot of Arsenal fans always complain about that type of player but then seem to want one.

Guessing? How many of your players earn less than 100 grand a week and how many earn more than 150 grand a week? Seems a bit funny to spend so much on wages when they're signing for you because they love your club.

Who said they're signing for City because they love them? There's other things that enter a players thoughts when joining a club other than money and the club they love, there's this thing called ambition but of course being an Arsenal fan, you wouldn't know much about that.

Ambition hahaha, is that way 3 of their highest earners joined them when they weren't in the CL?
Classy pop at my club though, last year you won your first title in 54 years was it not? Now you're in line to win the league in how long? Yeah you're in the right place to talk about my club.

What has ambition got to do with being in the Champions League? If City tell each of them players they want to be the best and they have the money to back that up, that is ambition.

Also, I support Middlesbrough if you can't see my avatar. Oh and before you go and laugh about Middlesbrough and how much ambition we show, remember, I'm not the 1 pretending that players only join other clubs other than mine for money.

Ah my bad, ofcourse if they tell them their ambitions then it must be so. More to the point when they might have money to do it in the future, but other clubs are doing it in the present.

I don't pretend, neither am I talking sbout every club. It's strictly about Man City and the Chavs.

Yes.

I only ever knew him to be a Chav player  :hiding:

City academy product, and contrary to what they'd have you believe- he left because the chances of making it as a youth player were pretty lame after the takeover.

He made nearly 30 appearences for city in his final season and went to chelsea and played less games. Yet you're saying he moved for first team football?

I kinda understand though. How would he of got his bills paid for anything under 50k a week. All teenagers need to be on that kind of money don't they. People mock us for paying over the top on wages then mock us for not giving in to his demands.

Oh right, so every City player joined City because of money, and they'd have had a better shot at actually winning something if they went to Arsenal?

That same summer you bought Balotelli, and you had Tevez already... I'm sure he saw his chances were going to be much more limited at City. And since you've bought Aguero and Dzeko, so I'd say he was probably right. He had direct competition from other young players at City, something he doesn't have at Chelsea.

Probably also knew that if he had a bad month your flavor of the month owner would replace him in a heartbeat. And manybe he didn't like Mancini either...

Don't try and pretend like he had any assurance of getting first team play at City, because he didn't. Regardless of how much he played the year before.
This space used to be more fun...

but even so, he still demanded 50k.

How can he leave to have a chance of first team football? It was his only option. There was no option to stay when he got like he did.

and look at Dunne
he was immense the season before the take over, but was forced out by big names coming in, not on his performances

Dunne was immense for years. Hughes will never be forgiven for that. A true city legend is dunne. I hope he ends up back at some point after football.

Dont really want Sturridge, would be a waste of funds which could be better spent. Having said that I don't really want Theo at the club either.

It seems like a lifetime ago that he was in your team!

What ever happened to that Michael Johnson guy? At one point he was being talked about as the next Gazza...

He's on loan at the minute. It seems every time he gets back to fitness he gets injured for a year again. He put on loads of weight and I think he may of ended up with depression due to it at some point as well.
