I think this would be clearly different,i dont see anything in Theo that see's him being better than Sturridge and the later has time to improve Theo has had years, and sadly Theo is no better

Theo is still young. I know he has failed to live up to expectations but when the rest of your midfield gets sold every season its hard to find any consistency. I am not saying Theo's progression is acceptable, but there has been quite a bit of upheaval at Arsenal since Theo arrived.

Any other examples?

Gallas wasn't that bad for us before his meltdown, and won or drew us a couple of big games with late goals, and at the time we really needed a CB. And Cashley leaving made way for Cleshey who imo was almost just as good.

That deal isn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be.

Fabs i concede that point, but clearly theo only asset is pace,he has very poor control for a PL forward/winger,time and again i have said theo in a one on one with a defender gifts the ball away, his close control is so poor

Sturridge is younger, can beat his man easier and can play Left or Right, he's got them three things on Theo. I'd take that in a heartbeat! Please be true.

Let us dream god dammit!

I cant see why Abramavich would go for this tbh.

How about a straight swap/plus cash deal for Andy Carrol? How would people feel about that?

Carroll is the worst player in re Prem ffs

There has been talk of Chelsea being interested in Theo for years. Before my reaction was always naff off you ruski chavs, but Theo just isn't doing it for us. Chelsea seem to have a thing for buying players who play well against them. Didn't work well with Torres did it lol

I'd deffo take the swap if it was every actually offered but the thing with Sturridge is, he's another player who insists he's a centre forward but gets played wide because down the middle is obviously not his best position.

Sturridge is more of a striker than Theo and has the goals to prove it, Theo will always be a winger, we have lots of wingers, with Ryo, Gervinho, Ox aswell as Rosicky and Arshavin who have played there we are fine in that position, I can only see us going for Podolski if RVP leaves and if we lose a winger in Theo, that might open the door for another winger (in Hazard). ;)

This thread gets funnier by the post.

You read all around this forum about how you all hate mercenaries then want to sign one of the biggest.
This is how it feels to be City
This is how it feels to be small
You signed Phil Jones
We signed Kun Aguero

If we signed him wenger would play him on the wing which is why he wants to leave chelsea in the first place!

Unlike Chelsea we lack strikers, Chelsea play Drog and Torres over Sturridge as well as Lukaku playing there. Sturridge would be our 2nd choice striker instead of 3rd/4th which is what Sturridge is now. He could rotate between ST and RW/LW.
