JET to Ipswich

Heard any rumours? This is the place to discuss potential transfer targets.

As i said before, i see him as a Gerrard type, i know Gerrard scores a silly amount of goals but his all round play is what makes him good, IMO, the all round, combative CM is something we have missed since Paddy left, and its why i am such a big fan of Lans. He reminds me of Parlour with his energy and will too.

I made the mistake of judging him at Watford, like i have judged countless players in the past only to snap my opinion back on the slightest stigma that caught my eye.

All he needs is a chance and i think with Denilson gone, that chance will come next season. I still think i am right about JET but who knows? All it takes is one moment to change a players career and catapult them to the front of the queue.

Well JET has been left at home to play against Stevenage, Lansbury should have travelled, but is struggling for fitness

Skysports.com understands that a number of Championship clubs have agreed terms with Arsenal for Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

The 20-year-old is a graduate of The Gunners' famed academy, but he has played just once for the senior side - spending most of his time away from the club on loan.

He has impressed during spells with Blackpool, Doncaster and Cardiff over the last three years - but now he is ready to move on permanently.

Arsenal are set to let him move on for around £1million - but with a large sell-on fee.

Skysports.com understands that Ipswich, Burnley and Portsmouth are amongst the clubs battling to land Emmanuel-Thomas who can play up-front or in midfield.

Emmanuel-Thomas is now set to decide on where his future lies with a decision due early next week.

I always thought Jay would make it with us...a potential captain even. I liked him and Frimpong but thought out of the two he would be around a lot longer.

But the past year he seems to have gone off the boil, and now he just doesnt look too promising.. (for a club like Arsenal anyway)

Maybe he hasn't earned it.
If he goes he should take the opportunity to rebuild his career. Others have.

Perhaps he has not had enough of a chance at Arsenal. But as Gza said i don't think he has done enough on loan to prove he will make it. He has a bad work rate and can get his team into trouble by overplaying and trying tricks and flicks which dont come off.

But he'd still have been better than the likes of Diaby!

JET offered to clubs

Plymouth Gooner wrote:There was one reserve game when setanta launched arsenaltv against west ham when jack burst on to the scene scoring a bergkampesque curler.

In that game JET partnered Diaby in CM. JET played the deeper role and Diaby played the more advanced role. JET looked more acomplished than Diaby and completely ran the show. He reminded me of Vieira the way he got stuck in but also the way he was so good with the ball.

I have followed him ever since and really hoped to see him given more opportunities.

Bouldy joked in an interview that they were trying to persuade JET to play CB but that JET was having none of it. Although he was clearly joking I have always wondered if his choice of position was part of the problem.

Hmmmm, yeesssss... It's kinda like Gunns says - he hasn't really transformed reserve form into the first team. Didn't really set the world alight at Cardiff did he...? No. No he didn't.

JET offered to clubs

Postby Arsenal Tone » Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:00 pm

I only reposted that to show that there was evidence for my opinion having seen JET and Diaby play in the same game and JET look the better player! Admittedly one game, admittedly a reserve game, but not 'purely speculation'.
