Babel is a fool and Wenger rejected him. Wenger has only said good things about Chamakh.

@Inch do you expect RVP to be fit all season? Do you expect Vela to suddenly become good? Do you expect Eduardo to recover? Bendy to finally realise his potential?

IMO we have a bunch of strikers who are nearly there or injury prone.

Good point, I had forgotten that nine of them will break their legs in pre-season training.

Not with it today...

Yeah after my lord Diaby is finished with them... he knew what he was doing when he broke Nasri's leg...

I'd rather have the problem of too many than not enough personally...

Marouane would also add some more height and size to our attack, which I think is welcome.

It seems that Liverpool are right out of the running now. Benitez was interviewed by Sky and asked if Chamakh could still be a Liverpool player then Benitez replied "I don't think so"

I've been watching him lately and the wrap on him is that he's very good in the air, at least thats what all the commentators keep saying. I have yet to see anything special from him though.

Good man for watching him. Keep us updated.

As for the 'anything special' remark. We said the same thing about Vermalen, let's hope we're wrong again.

He has shown some good skill in his link up play, and he does get up well in the air, but I just haven't yet seen him do something really special. But its still early cause I've only seen a handful of games with him now, but I try to watch anytime they're showing Bordeaux over here.

Call me unambitious if you like but I wouldn't really complain if he turns out to be only as good as Bendtner.
Having two Bendys is not a bad thing imo. At some stage one of them would be injured and when not injured we could even play them together against 'big' teams like Stoke and Chelscum.
At the moment if Bendy is out at the same time as RVP we have to put the midget up front.

Obviously I'd prefer a world class striker but still....

Well if we get him it will be for free, so it won't cost us much if he's shit.

Free transfer, yep, that sounds like a Wenger thing.

Coming to Arsenal, possible.

Knowing Arsenal, it'll all fall through at the last minute because the deadline day, price, work permit, insurance too high or any other of a list of a million excuses.

Don't hold your breath.

To be honest SE, I of the same school of thought as Inch on this guy. He doesn't strike me as the next Henry, but it would be nice to have another Bendy type player. So if we don't get him I'm not going to be too fussed over it.

Would have been a different story 2-3 weeks ago though...

Me neither.

But the sheer fact that we are so heavily linked with him suggests to me that absolutely nothing will happen as per normal, and even if it does, it'll be the last possible second of the transfer window, the same window that negotiations for this transfer have cost time thus no other transfer is possible.

Can't actually say I give a stuff, if he signs fine, if he doesn't then fine.

I have only seen him play once, but he looked decent, very physical and has pace.

He was playing as an RW in a 4-3-3 formation, he got back and defended as well contributing to attack
