Best XI for 2016

2017 is almost upon us, and what a year it's been. From Leicester winning the league to Arsenal bottling it again, from Portugal winning the Euros to England making themselves into pubbers in a final again, it's been an year of the unexpected and an year where some constants have remained constant. It's been a magical year, with talents like Payet and Mahrez lighting up the PL unexpectedly, while players like Ozil, Sanchez, Hazard have continued to light up the league. Mkhitaryan wowed the world at Bayern and again did so briefly at United before his injury.

Ball playing defenders like Stones were valued but it was Huth and Morgan who won the league. Possession was raved about but Portugal won the Euros. Conte is top of the league with 3 in the back that no one felt would work in the PL.

So what an year it's been. Now your job is to pick the best XI across all leagues in 2016. PM me your XI's before the 31st obviously ( :P ), and the best XI of GoonersWorld will be calculated. So get going, make that imaginary Arsenal team that Wenger should have got by now.

Will be released, don't want some tactical voting to keep out a certain player or summat.

Any formation you want, but the final formation will be based on the XI players with the most inclusions in the XI.

That obviously will probably mean 4-5 formations are still possible from those players, so most common formation will be chosen.

I liked Callum's Top 25 threads more. Griezmann or Suarez is going to get the axe in this team.

Will submit my team later.

Surely you have to have the Juve/Italy back three?

The Juve/Italy back three doesn't have the best CB in the world last season

Forget the world, he's not the best CB in the city of Madrid
