Ex-Arsenal man Eboue pelted with missiles in ugly scenes in Turkey
In scenes that will shock football once more Emmanuel Eboue was pelted with missiles from the crowd during a Turkish league match.
The former Arsenal man, now with Galatasaray, was barely able to come within 10 feet of the touchline without an object being hurled at him from the crowd.
There is nothing to suggest the motives of a fan base largely made up of supporters of great rivals Besiktas, was race, but the scenes will do little to help the reputation of Turkish football.
Eboue, who left Arsenal last summer after six years in north London, has had a mixed opening to his career in Turkey, featuring in all but one of the games, although has been substituted in almost half of those.
The Ivory Coast international has also developed the same reputation he had unfortunately cultivated in London, that of a diver, something many believe was the cause of the attack.
