When did it all begin for you?

When did you first become an Arsenal supporter?

For me it was 1980-1981 under Terry Neil :arse flag.gif:

1999, right after Henry came to the club. I admired Arsenal before that because of DB10, but I never got to feel the emotion and passion of it all until I got to actually watch a few games, after that I was hooked.

Was born a Gooner into a family of Gooners. First game was when GG was still in charge 93/94.

I say Liverpool 96 was my first game though as i remember it a lot more clearly.

Alan Sunderland's "five minute final" was the earliest memory I have of Arsenal
Losing the CWC final to Valencia was the next one
But what cemented it was when Kenny Sansom came to my primary school courtesy of his sister who was a dinner lady.
He was the first footballer I'd ever met and to this day the friendliest I met.
That must've been circa 84-85.

The old man was a magpie, but after watching a couple of seasons of Arsenal, I just was hooked.

1979 FA Cup Final... Me old man is ManUre nd said he told me the night before the game he would get me a ManUre scarf and then Malcolm McDonald came on the TV and they showed him player so i replied to my Dad i want an Arsenal.. Watched the final with me dad, supporting different teams. Arsenal and Alan Sunderland won it and i have been a Gooner ever since.

I actually took my dad to his first ever game Arsenal vs Barca, Dave Seamans testimonial and whilst i was getting something to eat my mate winked at my dad stood up and started singing "Stand Up if you hate Man U"everyone stood up except my dad....When a Gooner told my dad to stand up my dad told him he was a ManUre fan!!! How he didn't get a hiding i don't know... Ha ha

My Brother got 2 tickets for the '71 Cup Final . I was 7 yrs old and pissing myself with excitement . The roar when Charlie George hit that screamer to win it was magical . After that we went to Highbury often ( much easier to get a ticket during the terraces days ) . So I've loved The Arsenal since that wonderful day in May 1971 .
.... I met Charlie when doing the Highbury Tour a few years ago . For me , it was like meeting Sinatra or John Wayne . I treasure the picture I have of us shaking hands .

I was born a *** in 1990.... in 1996 I remember walking into an sports shop with my mum to buy some trainers and I looked up and saw the Arsenal kit there and went mum I want that one. To my Mums delight who is an arsenal fan she did not hesitate to get it. Drove home with it on to my dad horror and thats how that stuck and how I became a Goooooonnnnnneeeeeerrrrrr!!! Now I love the banter I can have with my dad!

1989, mid-season. I wasn't really exposed to football when i was growing up (cause my dad was a dick), so i was a late follower at 8 years old. I wanted a team with a rude word in it.......at 8 years old 'arse' was a rude word to me, so i pledged my allegiance from the day my best friend came into primary school and declared we should get ourselves a football team.

I'm glad 'arse' was the first rude word i could think of :)

Plus, after i had decided to follow Arsenal, my dad said he had always liked spurs.....so my allegiance was solidified.

1998 I was 6 Years old and originally a manure fan as I was born into a manure family. I was the only real football fan in my family so I supported Arsenal ever since just because I admired the way they played. That's a rough summary anyway.
