Arsenal can today confirm the signing of midfielder Amaury Bischoff.

The French-born Portugal Under-21 international, 21, was a youngster with French clubs SR Colmar and Strasbourg before moving to Werder Bremen in 2005.

Bischoff, who can play either in the centre of midfield or on the right, was a regular at youth levels for Werder Bremen. His one senior appearance for the Bundesliga club came against Celta Vigo in the UEFA Cup in 2007.

Amaury has played for France's Under-18 team, however in 2007 he elected to train with Portugal and to date has appeared for their Under-21 side.

Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to welcome Amaury, who will wear squad No 28, and will join up with his team-mates for pre-season when the squad returns from their training camp in Austria.

I predicted this. I'm sure this is our "experienced" player too.

If it is, would you be surprised? I wouldn't.

you know something. Arsene did say we would be getting one more signing and it would be a midfield player. Im really hoping that this Bischof chap aint the player he was on about?! While im happy to have another younger player as an addition to the squad, this surely cannot be our last signing of the season.... it really cant?! We cant lose, Hleb, Flamini and Gilberto and bring in Nasri, ramsey and bischof?! Surely not eh?!

Someone please. Calm me down

It's safe to say this guy does not inspire us and is not the 'experienced' midfielder AW was on about.
Be steadfast in your (ever waning) faith my friends! AW's not done yet!!! :snooty:

Great stuff.

If this is the last player we sign, i'll be furious.

How do they justify such bullshit ticket prices when they won't spend the money on a f***ing proven player?

EDIT by ChVint22: Merged with like topic. ;)

In AW we have to trust... two years down the line Milan, Barca, Real Madrid, will want to bring his services to them. He did play for a respectable side that of Werder Bremen...

For a player who didnt even make his mark in Bremans first team this is one of the strangest signings Ive seen AW pull through the door. I wonder what AW sees in him. Hopefully we will get an answer soon. I doubt he will be moved straight into the first XI but Ive seen stranger things. There is still the Emirates and Amsterdam tournaments to see his "potential"

Welcome to the club by the way
