Minor Trophies

Postby Green Gooner » Tue Aug 18, 2009 5:28 am

Hi guys!

I was looking for a bit of info regarding how I can find a complete list of ALL the minor trophies the Club has won its history, and the years we won them. Below is a list of some of them we won but its quite hard to find out about them minor comps. I'm sure we've won more Minor Trophies than that what I've got though.....

And also can anyone confirm whether we got a trophy back in the summer of 1993 when we played in and beat both manure and the Kaizer Chiefs in a pre-season tour of South Africa in the United Bank International Soccer Festival? I Remember the Ian Wright Pens :arsenal3:

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I can remember us beating Independiente 2-1 in some World Club Cup Final thing out in Miami (1989/90 pre-season).
Rocky scored both our goals. :arse flag.gif:

We beat France 2-0 at Highbury during the 1988/89 season.
Not sure if there was a trophy at stake though....

Also, we beat Rangers 2-1 up at Ibrox (November-ish '89) in some British Cup thing.
I think Paul Davis got the winner.

Faak me, you are a walking encyclopaedia!

I know I never went to many of these pre-season things, but it's absolutely ridiculous the amount you have stored up!

I'm tempted to create a new role of "Official Site Historian" and make it yours!

Yeah, it was The Zenith Data British Cup or otherwise known as the British Championship Cup.

According to Football Stats website rssf we also won the British Championship in 1963 and the City of Edinburgh Cup in 1941.

I'm finding it difficult to find out whether we got a trophy during the tour of South Africa in 1993 in the United Bank International Soccer Festival.

Cheers for the info so far mate ;)

I wish that was played every year. Could be a good run out for your young lads before the season.

The Young Guns get a good run-out in Friendlies during the annual Tour Of Ausria and Barnet games etc
