someone I should know about?
Quite possibly. But Kankick would give him a run for his money. This is why I'm not so fussed about whether or not there will be a return of some kind of golden era. There will always be amazing artists out there, and with the internet they don't all need to sell out to get recognition. Plus I like the fact that I can walk up to Lewis Parker or Jehst after watching them perform, have a chat, put the world of hiphop to rights, give a little nudge then be on my way. I got a mate who spent a good couple of hours smoking with Madlib after seeing him at the Jazz Café... doubt that would have happened if his album got to number one on the 'sell-out bitches' chart!

So as I am not Jamaican I deserve a smack in my face for using the word mandem?
Really?
*shakes
Mandem is actually derived from a Latin word

I probably should have worded it better.
You are not a teenager, i am guessing you grew up with Jamaican culture as it was a big part of London way back when.
I have no problem with older black guys using it, what annoys me is the youth of my age or younger who coin this term in some sort of insult, or silly white bitches who throw it around like they were born in the ghetto, do me a favour.
Anyone who came up to me using mandem in any sort of derogatory form, trying to start, there would be no hesitation, if me and you were grinding some green finest and you said it i wouldn't have any problem with that, thats what i meant.
White people using it full stop is a no no.
We cool fam?

The whole album is immense. I think this was the first video I ever posted in the "what are you listening to" thread.
Do you have the Sound Direction: Funky Way of Life album? Another Madlib masterpiece!
