Wenger: “We collapsed physically more than anything else”

What about the sheer lack of organisation in the back four,no commitment from the midfield and complete lack of effort all round.

Wenger: “We have to sort out our problems and, at the moment, not speak too much”

Us fans are hurting like never before,we need to hear something positive ffs

I knew that we would lose. but not 8-2. can't believe it! the only one who was "ok" was theo and szescny. the whole squad was just horrible. why did arshavin play during the whole game? djourou was horrible too. defensivly it was a mess! that's not a defence!

Or what about the idiot knowing that we needed strengthening at the back, so he sells a defender. What about how the midfield needed tightening, so he sell two midfielders. How about we've got more than enough strikers whose careers we can wreck by playing them on the right wing, so buy another.

Totally agree, our misgivings have been on show for some time now and there has simply not been a good enough reaction, the side needs to be refreshed, starting from the top!!!

I would request that all my fellow gooners on here please put WENGER OUT in their signature line please. I know SOMEONE in the office there reads these posts...maybe players...press...etc. It's the simplest and easiest protest...costs no money, might have some effect. Thank you.

Very special circumstances??? WHAT circumstances, aside from a decimated squad??? The schedule has been quite typical of the past 10 years...ManU's side has more holes than the past 5 years....WHAT circumstances???

Yes we had injuries, (as always) yes we had suspensions, but the squad should never have been allowed to thin to the point of starting Coquelin at OT and playing Jenkinson against Ashley Young, so f**k you Wenger and the Board. Secondly, the team we did send out shoud never have shipped that many goals, Whole defence was discracefull, Rosicky never stepped up, Va Persie was dreadfull. Cambridge f***ing United wouldnt have been beaten that badly FFS.

Ouch. That hurt. We all suspected we would get beaten but i genuinely didn't expect that. Wenger needs to buy some decent players and sort this all out quickly else we are stuffed. Already the laughing stock of the premier league... Not a happy gooner. :(

We are shit! Nothing really more to say. Wenger tactics and gameplan was disgusting.

There's not point really discussing that. Everyone today was shit! Nobody i think deserved credit!

Wenger worst day of his life!

on whether he has had a worst game as manager of Arsenal…
You don’t think like that after a game like this. It is terribly painful but you do not compare your pain. You have pain and that is it. I feel it was under very special circumstances. We have played three games in the Premier League and two Champions League games. It is not a time to make a balance of the whole season.

Of course it hurts, it’s humiliating, but you could see that we had not recovered physically in the second half from Wednesday night. We were short in some areas, that is for sure. They have class and they punished us. It was 3-1 at half-time and I think that was harsh against us. We missed a penalty, we had a chance to get back to 3-2. We tried desperately to get back but we opened ourselves up and were punished. Their finishing was great today.

on planning for reinforcements…
I am very open if we can find the right players. We have the money to sign players. If we find players who can strengthen our team then we will do it. But I am not the only one to work on the case, we have 20 people who are working on that. If we do not do it, it is because we don’t find them. We have plenty of players out today, too many players missing. We do not have the squad to compete when we have this many players out. At the moment, we have not found the solutions to our problems outside. When you look at today, you cannot predict how many players we have out. We did not expect to have Wilshere out, Diaby out, Gervinho out, Vermaelen out and Gibbs out.

on the wage structure at the Club…
It is difficult to find excuses after a game like that. Wages-wise, of course we are behind the other teams.

on whether he is close to bringing anyone in…
We are close to signing a striker at the moment but we are still looking for a midfielder and a defender.

on whether there is truth in links with a move with Mikel Arteta…
No.

on whether experience is needed…

Yes but it is difficult when you lose 8-2. It is better when you don’t talk as much but it hurts and it looks like you are looking for excuses. We have to sort out our problems that we have in the squad.

on criticism directed at him…
I am in a public job and I have to accept that. I try to make the right decisions for the Club and I will continue to do that. The players we have sold are players I brought to the Club. If you look at the 15 years I have been at the Club, I have brought in some good players. We have played three games in the Premier League, give me more time before saying that I have got it completely wrong. There were patches in the game where we had quality. I feel we collapsed physically more than anything else today

What i am most hacked of with, is the likes of Rosicky and Arshavin letting us down yet again. If ever there was a game when you need your senior players to step up and show what they are made of its when you're playing Man Utd away with a skeleton of a team, and they were both a huge disapointment. And not for the first time. When you think about our most recent title winning sides and look at just how many goals Pires and Ljungberg used to get between them, compared to those 2, is it any wonder we are nowhere near challenging for the title?

As much as Wenger has f***ked up, today, the players really let him down: RVP worst penalty ever, Arshavin should have scored and offered no worthwhile help for Traore, midfield went missing, Defence can all just f**k off tbh. poor Coquelin, I htink he did alright given the outrageous circumstances.

Well that will be 21 people off the wage bill for the next manager
