Us girls have no more stupid moments then you blokes do. And i'd like to think i know a good deal more about football then most of you being that i have my FA Level 2 Coachs licence (first part of UEFA B award) and bloody hard work to get i can tell you!!!

I'm just going to show you a perfect example where the point of a post went completely over your head.

Pet hates - the peculiar grammar/language/tense-construction that plagues football commentary and players' interviews who must have once thought it was cool and now has become a nationwide bad habit....

1. tense mangling... eg "The lad's went straight past him." "He has went" is simply wrong in anyone's book! Cut it out!!!!!

2. adverb and adjective mangling... eg "the lad's done fantastic." If you want to use it as an adverb - then it is "fantastically" - what's so hard about that?? - better still, find a better adverb to use - but don't say "he's done fantastic" - it is simply WRONG!

3. the paranoid avoidance of the word "me" because they mistakenly think it is rude to use the word "me" and the subsequent substitution of "myself" entirely incorrectly!! eg "The manager's spoke to myself." (this combines inapropriate "myself" with tense mangling!) if you mean "me" - use ME!! how hard can it be???

4 - now moving off footballers - the un-necessary american habit of extending words, now rife in the UK. eg - the almost universal "criminality" when they just mean "crime" and the addition of meaningless sentence-lengthening phrases that add nothing - such as the ubiquitous "going forward" that politicians now add to every sentence to try to look as if they have an idea about the future...
