Trouble is, Van Persie doesn't look set to give us any time this window, but oh yea, I forgot, he's the good guy...

so its happy days if he stays and contingency if he goes
rvp says he will not sign a contract take him at his word and deal with it or we will have the bollocks of last year being reactive rather than proactive

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... VP-offers-

Sky Sports understands Arsenal have received a number of offers for captain Robin van Persie following his decision not to extend his stay with the club.

The Holland international confirmed earlier this month that he would not sign fresh terms at Emirates Stadium, with his current contract having just 12 months left to run.

The Gunners have been left in the unenviable position of having to cash in on Van Persie this summer, or allow their star striker to walk away for nothing at the end of the season.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus have all been strongly linked with the former Feyenoord player, who made the move to North London in May 2004.

Concerns

Van Persie topped the Premier League scoring charts last term, netting an impressive 30 times as he helped Arsene Wenger's side finish third in the table.

The Dutchman returned to training on Monday for further discussions with Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis having previously outlined his concerns over the club's future direction.

The 28-year-old fears that the club will not be able to challenge for major honours if they continue to adopt the transfer policy and wage structure of recent years following their move to the Emirates.

It now remains to be seen how Arsenal respond to the offers they have received for a player who already has a number of suitors vying for his services.

-----

Bound to happen this week! I reckon Juve, City and Milan have put bids in so far.

Despite Robin van Persie's declaration that he would not sign a new contract with Arsenal and publicly questioning the club's ambition on his official website, the team captain and leading scorer was still at their first preseason training session on Tuesday. The following is a transcript of Van Persie's conversation with manager Arsene Wenger as he attempted to speed up his departure.

RVP: So. Boss. You...read my website, right?

Wenger: Is your website called www.ProfitsandPodolski.com?

RVP: No...

Wenger: Then no.

RVP: Well, I was just wondering if you're going to sell me soon because this is kind of awkward.

Wenger: We'll see.

RVP: Alright. I didn't want to have to do this, but if ask me to warm up twice during a Champions League match, I'm going to refuse.

Wenger: That didn't work for Carlos Tevez and it won't work for you.

RVP: Fine. Then I'm going to demand a transfer to Man City.

Wenger: That didn't work for Wayne Rooney and it won't work for you.

RVP: Fine! Then I'm going to shoot one of the work experience kids with an air rifle.

Wenger: That didn't work for Ashley Cole and it won't work for you.

RVP: But I need to win trophies!

Wenger: And I need to ride a unicorn to Hobbit Town. Talking about things that don't exist won't help you, Robin.

RVP: That's it. No more messing around. Boss...I've been diagnosed with Barca DNA.

Wenger: What?

RVP: Yes. Barca DNA. I have it. I shared a water bottle with Ibrahim Afellay during Euro 2012 and now I've contracted Barca DNA. You have to sell me now. I even have a doctor's note from Xavi that says I'm suffering.

Wenger: I see. We'll do the best we can, Robin. I promise.

Bendtner: Yeah, I have Barca DNA too, actually.

Wenger: Shut up, Nicklas.

Arshavin: I have chrome DNA :)))))))))))))))

Wenger: Sigh.

Arshavin: Hahahaha you said the word sigh instead of actually sighing.

Milan could be one of the buyers for RVP now, Ibra is gone and they'll need a striker. I have a feeling they'll surely bid for him and Dzeko.

I can't see it worth anyone bidding for Dzeko except Arsenal.

If we sell him, we need to replace him and who's really available for a reasonable price that won't ask for more just cause it's City? It makes me feel that he's staying. He's happy here as well so won't want to force a move.

Is that a joke or something? Your strikers: Ballotelli, Aguero, Tevez. All 3 worldclass and u got a fine youngster in Guidetti. You still would be the only team on the planet with 3 wordclass strikers and still u want a replacement if dzeko leaves? :? :?

Last year we had to play with 0 strikers as we had none fit. So yes, he needs replacing.

Why would we go in to the striker 1 down to what we had the year before? Surly the aim is to get stronger each year, not weaker?

You don't need another striker if you keep Tevez, no club needs four world class strikers.
