Respect to Punk for stepping into the octagon but that was such a mismatch. He had no business being on the main card of a PPV.

Just goes to show - as if there was any doubt - that fighting in the WWE counts for nothing in a real fight if you have no background in MMA. Punk trained for two years and had effectively lost the fight as soon as he was taken down within ten seconds.

Anyway, I'd be interested to see what he can do against a lesser opponent if he keeps at it. I'd have more respect for him if he stayed and fought again rather than taking the easy route back to pro wrestling.

He said he'll be back and I suspect he will be. After all remember, the great pro-wrestling MMA fighting Kazushi Sakuraba lost his first fight and came back to have a great career.

I dont blame Punk, I blame Dana. Stop bringing celebrities into the UFC who dont have any background in it, they're okay in other organisations like BAMMA where nobodys gonna complain much, but the UFC is the leading MMA organization in the world. They wont repeat Brock again, Brock was a beast and besides, he wasnt 37 when he made his debut.

It's all about attention and "look at these story-telling blokes who wouldn't survive one round in the real deal aka the octagon" advertising imo.
