So, Arsenal move on to a new era, and a new ground. After 93 years at Highbury, the time has come to move on. Arsenal chose a plot of land just to the West of Highbury, and plans were drawn up for a brand new, all singing, all dancing, state of the art ground. A ground that is, and will be the envy of every major football outfit in Europe.
Ashburton Grove is a purpose built football ground, hosting some 60,412 supporters in the widest, most luxurious stadia seats on The Planet.
The ground was designed to look a slightly odd shape, with which to allow the maximum amount of light and air flow to the immaculate pitch, which happily rivals that of Highbury.
Facilities have been designed to allow the best for players as well. Spacy changing rooms, the best hospital/treatment facilities in the business, and also with a view to security. Ashburton Grove is now said to be the safest ground anywhere.
Access could not be easier. Public transport is your friend here. The Piccadilly Line Tube runs to Arsenal Station just North of the ground, a two minute walk away. Turn right out of the station, and veer left at the end of Gillespie Road, and you simply can not miss the place. Also on The Underground, The Victoria Line runs to Finsbury Park Station, less than a ten minute walk to the ground. Top trains run to Finsbury Park as well. Holloway tube on The Piccadilly Line is South of the ground, and maybe a fifteen minute walk, but a lot less congested at peak times before kick off.
Parking locally is very restricted, and to be honest, you would be mad to try to do so. People wishing to drive would be better advised to park well away from Ashburton Grove, and use local public transport. Persons travelling from further afield and needing advice, feel free to contact any of the team here, who will happily provide a travel plan for you.
However, given that 60,000+ people will be trying to gain access, and the same amount leaving at the same time, plan your journey with plenty of spare time to han.
